£42 does seem a little steep-perhaps if you post you pc details here- or if you post the crucial page which shows the type of ram you need-then you might get help in lowering the price:D
See above0 -
bascially you have upgraded to the most powerful operating system which is windows xp which has quite high system requirements such as a decent amount of memory and ram is required to use it, but dont worry xp is fine
however as you have only updated your operating system
you pc detaisl are stilll quite old
if you have 120mb then your ram will be maybe 64 whic is very slow
im unsure if your pc can handle a 512mb of ram
therfore buy a 256mb
however these come in dividual chips
therefore depedning on the number of memroy slots you have i suggest you can good amount for 3 slots
but do not exceed the total of 512mb at all
new pcs are cheap have you considered another one by chance?0 -

I think from what i understand the op's pc came with xp.
Also i would say you have a 128mb stick of ram with 8mb being allocated for graphics.
Purplep if you post a link to the crucial page that would help, ta0 -

Just to clarify, I didn't upgrade anything, this was the original spec of the pc I bought. Oh and it's actually 120mb of ram0 -

That brings up 65 items, would any 256mb be compatible then regardless of the number that begins CT??0 -
nah it wont some have a different chip density and others bits which wont match
buying them will just mean the item wont function but you pc will still be slow
try this as well
http://www.memoryx.com/
select check computer option on the left
see if it brings up more info0 -
It says you can have 512mb so i woul say take out the 128 and put the max 512 in-this hsould be fine. However if anyone knows different, please say.
These are on ebay
Edit: Some of the sellers on ebay ask to eamil for compatibility-if u mail them the crucial link they should double check for you0 -
