I managed to read the whole thread yesterday - so many ideas it took forever - OH kept tutting, wanting his dinner (and lunch).
I must write my list and start on a few projects.
I am making a few hampers with fudge jam and maybe a small bottle of homemade wine in for all of the grandparents. Also something that i dont think i saw on here was a mini christmas cake for each of them - make one large cake and cut into pieces the ice and decorate. Did individual ones in baked bean cans once when i was younger and they went down really well.
I love christmas so was very happy to see this thread.

soblivion - love the box but can just imagine the pickle I'd get into trying to make it...............lol I'm bad enough trying to cover a ready made box let alone starting from scratch but bet someone can do it.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

That box does look gorgeous soblivion. I have tried making boxes before but they always go wrong. The lid normally ends up too big or too small. I might attempt it if I am feeling really brave.0

so many brilliant ideas....but must go and make something to eat!!!!
I'm definately going to be attempting hampers this xmas, best get a wriggle on really, 4 months to go:eek: !!! Can anyone suggest a good place where I can get cheap baskets and anywhere I might find a scrapbook!!!?????? I havent got a clue.
Last year, my OH and I made my mum a DVD of all photos of her and my dad, then pics of us, and then pics of grand kids, all going on to screen in different transitions with songs playing in the background, cost nothing to make, but a long time, and she loved it....cried like a baby!!!! This year, think we might make one for mum in law, as her youngest son died a few years ago and she would love something like that so she could watch it all the time.
Anyway must go......you're all inspirational....keep up the good work....and dont forget to post pics so we can pinch your ideas!!!!!! :rotfl:
Bashful x x xI'm a frugal wannabe

slm6002 reminded me of something with her comments (thank you for that) I also wanted to show you.
I was thinking about that you could make a big round xmas cake cut it into portions, decorate each piece singularly(the marzipan and icing bit) and then decorate these boxes in a xmas theme. would be a nice way to package a special piece of cake. All the info is here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=344079
If you haven't seen it yet the ladies at splitcoaststampers make some fabulous things.
This is their download template section http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=143
but do have a look at some of the ladies gallery pages, they're fantastic, you'll be there hours LOL
Some brilliant things to make. Handbags, shoes, baby boots, cards and boxes for all most everything. Truly brilliant.0
