    Hello everyone

Well I've not got much further than buying the things for my sock monkey! But I thought I'd announce that since I don't have a fabric shop nearby, I bought a tesco value pillow for the pricely sum of £1.50 and a pack of 5 socks with funky contrasting toes/heels (bum/ears/mouth):rotfl: for £5, and I reckon I'll get 5 sock monkeys for £6.50, not bad!!

Last year, my OH and I made my mum a DVD of all photos of her and my dad, then pics of us, and then pics of grand kids, all going on to screen in different transitions with songs playing in the background, cost nothing to make, but a long time, and she loved it....cried like a baby!!!! This year, think we might make one for mum in law, as her youngest son died a few years ago and she would love something like that so she could watch it all the time.

My son did this for me as a sort of joint Mums Day and OH's birthday pressie. He's compiling several of them under the headings, People, Places, stuff like that. This one was People and my son and his Dad were on it (they both died in 1970's) so it was really lovely to see it. Musical background as well.
As for scrapbooks, well I've been looking (managed to find a little one in charity shop) but I've picked up, also from charity shops, photo albums and bit by bit I'm going to sort through photos and sort of decorate the various pages according the who's on it if you know what I mean. Our local craft shop has scrapbooks in but they're about £12 and I can't pay that much, no way. You might find a cheap note book and cover that with pretty paper.

soblivion - thanks for the link............now I'll never get anything done will I.......................lol

    Hey all!
Mary - when I was little I remember jars of what were called "pickled people" which sound like what you brought. I loved them, they were done if different coloured tights and had goggly eyes.

As for my Christmas stuff...well it hasn't really happened since the house move has been on the cards hehe, doesn't stop me peeking on here though hehe.

Was it someone on here looking for inspiration for footie-mad males?

Just wondered about doing the sock monkey in the teams colours, or even splash out on a pair of 'official' kit to make them even more authentic:confused:

  • I have just purchased the ingredients to make bath bombs after enjoying making bath salts so much. Can't wait to make them, they will be ideal for the fundraiser I am having and for christmas presents

BMF - been looking at 'how to make sock monkey sites' (when I should have been doing reports.........lol) but I'm not that good with sewing and can only think it'll look totally naff when I've done.........still, might have a go. My disabled friend I see once a week is pretty handy with a needle.........maybe I could get her to make one for me -she could do one for her grandson as well. My son is Liverpool supporter........how would you do the 'kit' to go on one of these ? Mind you, I always buy him daft things and his flats about to explode with 'stuff' from over the years.....................lol

Mary I just read the above bit about the liverpool kit ... they sometimes so the car suckers of the kits which is almost a mini kit, maybe something like that would be ideal ...
They normally come on a hangar and I did a quick search on google ( liverpool fc car is what I typed in) and it came up with this ..
