Boyfriend has now decided he wants some wheels for his pushbike which are £260 a pair:eek:   um.......no thats practically my whole christmas shopping budget gone on one of his gifts - i dont think so. So may give him money towards them or see about getting him a gift voucher form the place he shops but im not spending that much on him as much as i love him.

Son has been asking for transformers/cars and power rangers so thats pretty much his christmas sorted in a nutshell and his main 'want' gift wise is a bike so thats not too bad.

Also hopign to find my video - i have a video of ben form a day old to his first birthday and ive lost the tape its on but when i find it id like to get copies for my mother in law, my dad, my mum and my nan as another gift for them as they dont get to see him as often as they'd like.

Right am off to try and ring scotland (from wales:eek: ) to see if i can get my mother in laws fathers death certificate becuase last year she was wanting to research her birth mums details, and she managed to find her death certificate so ordered it online and as a surprise extra gift i researched her mums family tree all the way back to 1700's and bless her she got so disheartened as shes nto very computer savvy she couldnt find anythgin and i ended up showing it to her early and since shes got in touch with her two long lost brothers who she hasnt seen since she was 13 and shes visited one so far and is off to see the otehr next month! so now its tiem for her daddies side - wish me luck!

sammy - you seem so organised. Good luck with the certificate. You did well to get back that far. How long did it take you ? I've been doing mine for about 7 years now and got back as far at late 1600s but only because I found contacts/relatives who had more info than I could ever have got.

rusty - crikey your son is a clever chap.............if I'd have attempted those they'd have looked like anything but reindeer...............lol
    Tell him.........well done :T :T :T :T
Keep him interested and he could do a lot for you..............lol

Ooh they are brill. Please PLEASE tell me
is there anything folded up inside the flannels eg soap?
    Pipe cleaners for antlers?
You need the eyes, I can see that (ha ha LOL) - what are the pom poms for? Noses?
Are there any idiot proof instructions for these?

Idiot proof instructions are here ... http://www.kckpl.lib.ks.us/ys/CRAFTS/Ratrein.htm

Please bear in mind I need eyes and a pom pom nose but they should look similar to this when complete. I have a bar of soap inside ... I bought the smartprice soap from Asda, comes in a pack of 3 and costs a whopping 19p

    Hey all!
Had another idea to share with you. As a Norfolk girlie I thought about buying a load of samphire and pickling it for Christmas pressies. What do you guys think of that idea??
I was hoping to pick some up the weekend before we move which I know isn't the best timing but it will be the only time left in the season that I can get any.
Can't believe I have to wait til after the move to do anymore crafting, it sucks lol

    Do you have a wilkos?

Brown flannels - Wilko's 25p each (thanks to Rainmac for her info)
pipe cleaners I got from here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=250264053737 (I have used 1 pipe cleaner per reindeer so 50 was more than enough for me)
Googly eyes from here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=290247809097 (possibly not the cheapest but ideal for me as I have loads of money in paypal and not much money in my bank account ... plus the OH need not know what I buy if paying by paypal.)
red pom poms from here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=260159471130
I used an elastic band to hold ears in place then tied with ribbon and a bell after :)

oh eck siren.........I have to plead ignorant and ask what it is samphire ???

Oh, have to mention this.......something I got from a craft fair (sorry no piccys) - it was soap inside a flannel and the flannel was somehow folded to look like a handbag -all decorated with stick on bits for a button and some braid for a strap. Looked really good.Anyone seen any about or any instructions on how to do it ? The one I bought is all wrapped in cellophane and I've kept it as a pressie for grandaughter.............if I unwrap it I'll never get it back together again...............lol
