Rustyflange They look fab, love them being 'wrapped' in the bags, what a good idea! Where on earth are you going to keep them between now and Christmas though?!

    Gorgeous trays & bags.
Morrisons have some nice sets of mugs on offer - pretty patterned ones if anyone's interested...
All the trowels (38p) have gone now!

I am taking over the bottom of the wardrobe (its one of them built in jobbies ...)
I already have 2 big hampers in there which are wrapped and ready for christmas, aswell as presents for my sons birthday and christmas pressies for both my son and daughter :o I am just trying to be a little organised :)

  • omg! you lot are so organised!
i've just found this thread and haven't even thought of xmas yet but i always make my own pressies. before i post any pics or ideas i'm gonna spend time reading the whole thread. (have made it up to page 9 so far!!!!)

so.....i'll see you all back here in a couple of days(!!!) to make sure i don't repeat anything already suggested.(also need to update my pics to upload if needed!)

thanks for a great thread....you've all got me thinking now. i am always expected to better myself every year.i think i've made a rod for my own back but it's more fun than fighting with other shoppers half way through december! thanks for getting me planning!

    Morning, all! Happy Wednesday :)

I absolutely LOVE the idea of those flannel handbag soaps which Mary43 mentioned upthread, so have done a quick google and found this :

Not exactly a clear picture, but the instructions seem quite straightforward so I may give it a go this weekend :)

Not too sure if this has been added already, but samphire is a sort of seaweed plant that grows by the water's edge in salty areas. I bought some from a farmers market last weekend when visiting famil in Norfolk. Not too sure what it would be like pickled? To cook, I was told to rinse it lots, boil for a couple of minutes and serve with butter - then apparently you hold the root end and strip the flesh upwards away from the root with your teeth, so it leaves a the tough core. Messy but tasty, very high in salt though because of where it grows.

I would love to know of places near to me that I could harvest it for free - but if you live near esturies in Norfolk I would imagine you could harvest it for free, so would make very cheap prezzies!
