The bags are lovely rusty i might have to steal the idea ,good as well because the recipient cant see inside and no extra wrapping needed

I can't take the credit for the idea. Someone on the finished baskets thread gave me the idea. And what a fantastic idea it is :D

You're welcome :) Thanks for posting the idea originally - these handbag flannels will be absolutely perfect for my teenage daughters to give to their friends as little Christmas gifts.

A slice of soap from Lush inside each one would be great, but I think all Lush stuff has some kind of sell-by date on it so I probably couldn't make the bags too early. How long d'you reckon Lush soaps keep for?
  • just noticed the handbags, was planning on doing the reindeer ones for children at christmas with tesco value soap (15p for 3!) but the hand bags are lovely for the ladies!

I think it was VAlli talking about finding a good bargain for various bits & pieces SIZE=1]I wanted to say ingredients but know that's not right![/SIZEto make the flannel animals....
How difficult would it be to get lengths of towelling to make your own flannels, or perhaps to save a bit of hemming, you could use fleecey material for more of a 'microfibre' effect:confused: ? Dependant on the ages of the students in the class, they could also make their own pompoms from cereal packets & red wool..equates to Fine Motor Skills as defined in Desirable Learning Outcomes & covers Maths, Physical AND Creative:D

My tiny brain is now going into meltdown trying to think of a way I could devise a cardboard template to make flannel toolboxes to put the soap in for the men's gifts!
