You can buy special transfer paper that you print using computers printer then iron onto your canvas(or t shirt)

    Although your drawing looks fab

Where you getting the canvas?? our Works bookshop does cheap ones

please can you tell me if I could use a photo from my computer to this transfer paper to put on fabric ? how does it work please? I am a bit of a technophobe and this probably sounds stupid but does the colour on what you put on the transfer paper come from the printer ink?

Have had an idea for a present for my brother, he's forever coming up with obscure meanings for things, he's a useless facts type of guy!!! Anyway, have downloaded a free ebook which has 300 (or is that 3000?) supposedly interesting facts in it. A lot of them he wouldn't be interested in, but am planning on typing out the best of them, adding a few more famous (or infamous) quotes, and somehow binding them together, what do you think? It's a plan that needs proper 'legs' to it yet (if you know what I mean), but it could work, couldn't it?

Could they be put in a diary, or on a calendar? Or put 365 in a decorated jar labelled "learn something new everyday" so he could take out 1 each day. Sure some peeps will be along soon with better ideas :) Sounds a great idea & might nick it for my big bro - he's so difficult to buy for.

Same as mine, don't want to get him something predictable again, usually provide him with smellies or something along with the obligatory 6-pack of beer (it's the only way Mammy allows alcohol in the house, even at xmas, we bring it and OH helps him drink it :rotfl: ). Last year I outdid myself, bought him the 'gentleman's ball scratcher' (rude, but cheap), he found this extreeeeemely funny. Have to try to do as good this year, but really can't afford anything much this year either.

Love this idea! I bought my OH a desk calendar last Xmas where each page could be made into different paper areoplanes. He and everyone else in his office thought this was a great gift, maybe I could do a jar of facts so they can all learn a new thing each day :D

Thanks sylphraven and kbl for coming up with the idea of interesting facts. Kbl can I ask where you got the ebook from please?

Theres a lovely wheat bag tutorial here
    http://creativeoutletdesigns.blogspot.com/2007/12/diy-wheat-sacks-tutorials.html

I have made a pincushion ........just for fun ..................i made one as a kid i think it was a blue peter item??

    foodstores017.jpg

its a coffee jar lid stuffed with cotton wool then covered........ along with 4 circles of card covered too .Sandwich a small bit of ribbon between 2 of the circles and glue the two halves together repeat with the other 2 circles catching in the end of the ribbon from the other circle (to make a hinge)

Place the covered dome on the top and glue down use more ribbon to create a band around the "hat" and a bow (to hide the joins)

    Not explained myself very well

I haven't finished yet i want to put a piece of felt insideto keep needles in too but no matching felt as yet

    foodstores018.jpg

Also finished my first stitchery(and started another ) i bought a big bag of embroidery threads in wilkinsons for £3 and used a tiny amount i already had the fabric just need a frame for it now

Sorry I haven't replied before now, was at a wedding all day yesterday, didn't get in till 4, absolutely knackered today, but worth it!!! The web addy is http://www.free-ebooks.net/, there are loads of stuff on there, you could lose yourself for a right few hours :p
Forgot to say that it's under Miscellaneous on page 2. There's also an ebook called 'romantictionary and date aboo' that might be good for a pressie for couples, haven't looked at it yet tho.
