Eddy is a little more complex than those rugby characters (unfortunately for me) hmmm maybe I'm biting off more than I can chew hehe!! Was thinking of doing it next week while I'm at my mums and near a shop I know that does cheap canvas.
This is Eddy!! (well one reincarnation of Eddy!) Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -
Mmmm siren he's a bit scarey:eek: LOL
This is going to involve real painting and I can't do that, sorry I was no help. A friend I lost touch with when she moved used to paint this type of thing onto harley bike tanks but she just did it freehand she is so talented, I was very envious of her skills. I hope you do it, I'd love to see it finished.
Melon, glad to be of some help, I bought the canvasses from argos £11/12 for all 4. I just bought 1 small tube of black acylic paint, it did all 4 canvesses, a light switch, a plastic door knob, that plastic light bit that goes on the ceiling where the lampshade is and there was still loads left over.
I put them in a straight line above DS's bed, I have to say they look quite good. I'd love to see one done in pinks of fairy outlines for girls, I think that would look lovely but my DD is nearly 21 so I don't have anybody to do it for.
I also made a french memo board for him too. That looks quite good too and could be done in the football teams colours.0 -
sammy, love your sheet, you'll be able to make lovely stuff with that:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

melissa - thanks..........pva glue it is. I was going to start on a box today but somehow the mood wasn't right and I had a feeling it would all go wrong..............lol Got to choose the moment I think.
Wouldn't mind some cath kidson samples..........might try for that for notebooks or even matchboxes........I managed to get some real tiny nail varnishes from the charity shop for teenage grandaughter and it might make them more appealing if they were in a pretty box.Mary

Cheating really, but what about getting a poster like that that fits the canvas, painting the background properly with the blues etc, cutting around the image and glueing it onto canvas, then varnishing over ? Would that be ok, or too much of a copout?Credit card €7892.36/€ 0

Yep the Eddy is going to be a challenge. I did do art GCSE at school but didn't get on with the teacher as she didn't like my minimalist style. I'm dying to start it but don't have any canvas here and don't know a local shop that does it cheap. Will have to wait until next week when I visit me mum and get a canvas from a shop there.
I'm considering getting some paper and sticking it together to get an idea of size and having a go at drawing him out and seeing how it goes. At least way I would get an idea of how easy it will be to achieve.
Yea Eddy is rather scary and he has many different guises! He is on every album cover, on tshirts and at every gig they have an Eddy appear. We went to see them last weekend and a giant 9 foot eddy complete with robot parts and a gun stormed around the stage pretending to shoot the audience lol.
kbl - if it all goes wrong then I may just do that...although the posters are quite expensive! Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -

Whats a French memo board ?.
This is the one I made. They can be pretty nice colours, embellishments, ribbon etc but I had to play it down due to it A) being a theme andbeing for my son 16.
If anyone wants details/info etc I can post links up for you.
I'm so sorry my pics are always so big, I resize them forum board size but they are just always so huge:o0 -

Never thought to do a pink fairy canvasHave a 5 month old daughter (which is sucha novelty after 2 boys!)
Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....0 -
soblivion - fabulous memo board. Could you please post a link, I might have a go myself. My mum would love a flowery one for the kitchen. I though my nieces might like a girlie pink one. It would be great for them as I assume you don't need pins, just pop it behind the ribbon.0
