Well done yummy Mummy, that's a shame they are the wrong size. I'm considering making some, how long did one take?

i would say about 5hrs, but i did it in small bits - some yesterday afternoon, some yesterday eve and finished it this morning. the ball shown is 8cm (thats not all way round but top to bottom), the ebay 1s are 3cm.
you need about 1000 sequins and pins for 1 this size and if you have a thimble you will probably save your thumb. the light bit on it is ribbon, it goes round the center both ways and the loop is also pinned in the same place at top.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:

On the ceramic hearts question - how about doughcrafting some hearts? You can't get much cheaper than that! Also, if you twist up some rope out of thin dough and lay it around the edge of the hearts [either on top of the heart or attach it to the sides of the heart] it looks really cute and rather professional.
Hope this helps
I'm at the "who do I make what for" stage. I've gathered together a lot of present ideas and various presents so I shall be laying them out on the bed on November 1st and starting then. I intend to get the decorations out and check the lights out in the first week of November too, just to avoid the usual frantic panic! Wish me luck.
Oh, I forgot to say, in Tesco yesterday there were some lovely white wire baskets for £2.99. I got one to use as a present - ended up putting the flannels in it in the bathroom instead ..... ah well.
Thanks for all the inspiration and in particular to SammyKaye for starting this thread. It's been a real help.If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0 -
Hey there,
I've been without my computer for a whole week and have only just caught up on your posts. The photos of all your finished products look spectacular, so professional!
Well done to everyone, you have amazing talents. :T
Anyway, thanks for all the helpful information you've provided. I hope my computer will behave itself, at least until Christmas, LOL!
Best wishes to all :xmassmile0 -
here is my finished reindeer:
it seems to be much bigger than others on here - I assume that is because of the size of the soap.
I have also made a yule log:
has anyone bought any plastic holly to put on the top? I looked in the local cake shop yesterday and it was £1 each :eek:saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
£60 deposit paid :j £100 paid:j £40 paid:j0 -
bunbun - I made a reindeer that colour - yours looks better than mine...........lol I made yule logs as well - 6 altogether !! Got some little bits of plastic holly from our cake shop and I think they were something like 10p each............not certain as I bought a load of ribbon as well.
They're quite small so I put two on each log but have some left if they've any good to you..............just counted...........got six left............let me know if they're of use anyway.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
