I place whatever I'm wrapping on top of unrolled cellophane and pull the cello up on 2 sides to cover the item with some extra for the 'fluff' on top. I then cut the cello off the roll and hope for the best! As these bowls are quite small I then cut the cello into a square. Does that make sense, if you've got too much cello 'on top' you can always trim it to size. Does that make sense? Sorry if it's a bit vague but I do it by eye so to be honest each bowl was probably wrapped in a different sized piece. Please let me know if that makes no sense and I'll try again, only had half a cup of tea so far and my brain is in need of more...:D[/quote]

Thanks Rainmac , did post reply to you this morning , but its not here , wonder if something happed on site as there is a gap from 8.40 to noon on the posts

Anyway , kinda get the gist , my celllophane is on a roll an didn't want to waste any... think i should get two squares from the width, just need to make sure i get the length right. Yours look pretty damm perfect to me

I got some nice black ceramic plant pots (99p)today from Ikea, going to use these for pots of gold... for my daughter to give to her teacher an a few other people, budgeted £10 per pot.

Contents thinking , gold coins, gold covered sweets, gold scratch cards , pound coin or two, possibly some gold makeup/ nail polish and or gold earrings... seen a few in shops , 9ct pack of 2 for 5.99ish

Any ideas of extras to put in for guys , we were going to make one for her dad , somehow don't think the make up or jewlellery would go down well with him :)

    Thanks

Rainmac - your pots of golds are lovely!!

Calling all crafters - I've seen a lovely idea where instead of giftags, you use a ceramic heart/star etc. in festive colours and write the receivers name on it, then they can hang it on the xmas tree as a decoration afterwards. However they were £8 for 3 shapes....and I need about 12

So...anyone got any ideas on how to make ceramic (or something similar) hearts and stars? I'm thinking Fimo and cookie cutters, but if anyone can advance on that I'd be all ears!!! A bit like the pic above but a bit more rustic and a bit less polished!!

Also anyone got any ideas for the cord??

Lovely items, but agree they are quite expensive.

I just received some similar things but in wood from www.craftshapes.co.uk and they were much cheaper. I'm planning on doing some christmas crafting with my 5 year old and letting him go wild with glitter on them and then giving them as tags which can then be used as tree decorations afterwards

  • thanks everyone. it didnt take me long to do, and my thumb is really sore now.

the balls i go from ebay arrived today to make up the 14 and they are less than half the size of the 1 pictured - and they dont look right so small, so i'm going to half to buy some more big 1s from market.
