  • Morning ladies,
Does anyone else spend more time planning and shopping for crafts than actually making them?! I am a bit of a shopaholic and spent most of saturday happily squirreling around the shops buying up lots of bits and pieces, but never got round to making anything! and worse, I still have tons to buy! grrr!
But I have made a list now and am going to try to stick to it, here it is-

    Make:
    Skittles Vodka
    Kola Kube Vodka
    Chilli Vodka
    Puzzle wreath
    Spicy Coffe
    4x flannel reindeer
    Sweet wreath
    Bauble wreath
    Wooden Christmas tree
    12 Days of Christmas Poster
    Silver Snowflakes
    Christmas Curtains
    Blackboard hearts

    Decorate with glass paint:
    4x Cocktail Glasses
    6x candle holders
    6x photo coasters
    4x vases

and lots of brownies, cookies and truffles...

Ooo-er that is a rather long list, think i had better get going!

    Hi Guys

Just a word on the foot prints . We used flour with a little bit of gliiter in it . Then sprinkle it on the stairs right till it gets to outside my sons door. You do then spend 3 days still finding out you have a twinkling staircase . (but it goes with the Christmas Spirit.)

Just a word of warning my synical son aged 4 at the time when he saw the footprints was not quite sure whether to believe in them or not. He spent the next hour trying to match all the shoes in the house to the footprints to see if we had done them. (he didn't find them though LOL )

I did try 1 year with the magic snow the type that you add water and it multiplies to 5 times the amount that worked well ,but i did only put this around the fireplace as I was not sure how it would hoover up.
  • hi,

has anyone got any ideas of stuff 5-10yr olds can make (as cheap as possible) for men? i help with a local youth group and we have got loads of ideas and such for ladies but only a keyring for the men. they made book marks last year so i dont really want to do that again.

    anything greatful.

  • a gift i have made for my sister and cost me very little and brilliant as she loves horses! - 5 lollypop sticks, a small notebook, a magnet, nail varnish and glue.

glue the lolly sticks to make a "showjumping fence" 1 at either end and 3 across. covered the 2 upright in brown and the 3 across in red and white. let it dry, stuck the horse notebook on the front and the magnet on the back.

  • hello yummy-mummy-amy

Can the children make some gifts by painting ceramic items. Male ideas would be a coin dish, mug or photo frame. I`ve also seen christmas items like a star key hook , perhaps the adults could attach the little hook after painting ?

omg have just made a list of things to buy before even starting to make some things and it has taken up over a whole A2 sheet of paper- eeeek!

  • 'Spiced Coffee-
    10 tablespoon ground coffee
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    3 tablespoons powdered sugar
    1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a jar.

Instructions for making: as normal instant coffee. Best with cream instead of milk but good with milk too!'

I got the receipe off someone on here, a hamper thread I think.

I'm going to try to rewrite the12 days of christmas song for my work department and arrange a bit of a sing along at the work party!
  • Thats sound very warming coffee i like the flavoured coffee @ Starbucks @ christmas. Though i`m laying off the caffine atm my OH is a coffee fan.

Sounds fun at your work party !. I did the twelve days of christmas as gifts for last year. I got glasses coins all sorts of things on the run up to christmas. I know it should be after but it was more fun that way.

Loved the sound of this, but ground coffee isn't the same as instant coffee is it? I thought you used ground coffee in a coffee maker, a bit like making tea with tea leaves. Do you think it should be instant coffee instead, what did you use last year?
  • Hmm, I hadn't read it that closely! I haven't made it before, you're right, looking at the instructions it must mean instant, I'll try to track down who first said the receipe and ask them
