I'm going to make lemon curd

It was my favouritest thing as a child, but I stopped eating eggs when I was 12 due to the ethical farming issues, and have clearly not been able to make it without!

This year, I've rescued some ex-battery hens and they've laid plenty of ethical eggs for me... so I'll be decorating some pretty jars, filling them with lemon curd, and making a little postcard from my hens explaining how it got there.

It's not just me going off on a tangent - my whole family are vegetarian hippies!

My next door neighbour makes delicious lemon curd. I'm hoping for a jar at Xmas and she's getting a pot of gold from us!

    Lovely idea, good luck :D

I made up some nice little pot pourri bags yesterday using organza gift bags. I mixed abit of red colours pot pourri with some dried orange peel, cloves, star anise and soe cinnamon sticks and then added some drops of cinnamon oil and some sun kissed apricot (didn't have orange!!!). Mixed it all around and let it dry alittle then filled my bags. They smell lovely and I have pit them in a sealed zip lock bag to keep the smell in longer!!

I'm hoping to do a craft fair so will take them along to that. I need to get more orange peel dried now!!!

Also made my first reindeer, needs abit of tweaking but on the whole quite happy with him. I couldn't find brown pipe cleaners so his antlers are red and a nice bright orange pom pom!! No more flannels at Wilko this week. Will try Primark!

    Today stuffing a sock monkey!!

Phew, you've been busy Angie :j I love your reindeer, he is so cute and the red antlers look fab :T

Can I ask where did you get your dried orange for the pot pourri, did you dry your own. Is this easy to do? I'd love to have a go at some Xmasy pot pourri this year to make the house smell delicious :D

    Hi all,

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but I'm going to make a bouquet of different fruits, different skewers presented like a bouquet of flowers, some chocolate dipped and some not.

Love the pineapple daisies. My mum has just had her gall bladder out and is finding she can't eat anything high in fat so I was trying to think of an alternative to a homemade hamper.

Apparently these stay fresh for up to 10 days if kept in the fridge with some water in the bottom of the mug and you can just pick out a stick whenever you fancy it. A healthy alternative for people like me who don't want to put on so much weight this Christmas :D

I think i'll need to practice a bit though.

Pictures for ideas on this website

They are beautiful, but what a price to buy them  Good luck with making one, a lovely idea :D

How easy is this and how cute... http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=1931

I've got lots of marshmallows left from my snowman soup so may have to do a couple of bags of poop for my 2 monkeys.

I did these last christmas (along with 'reindeer poo' ones), as a little present for family and friends from my DD. Everyone seemed to love them.
A creative mess is better than tidy idleness :D
