Hi brookeslay, I've sent you a PM.
I have bought wooden scoops from a local cook/kitchen shop and from ebay. This seller has a good deal if you are looking to make lots of salts... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wooden-Scoop-for-bath-salts-x-10-see-wooden-buckets_W0QQitemZ190257683752QQihZ009QQcategoryZ31822QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Good luck! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Oh lor........I've know idea how big my bars of soap are - got them in a pack from a fete in aid of the blind. I did try doing one head with two bars of soap but that didn't look right at all - back to one bar and I think that'll do it.
Just need to re-dye my pipe cleaners in strong coffee - again ! I went wrong with them by leaving them to drain on kitchen roll paper - the paper soaked up a lot of the colour.............lol So, back to the drawing board...........lol
Mary, I would say a normal bar of soap is between 125-150g. If yours is a normal looking size it will be fine:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Right - so many ideas and so little time!!!
My plan:
1. to buy Ikea gingerbread hearts and ribbon for decorations and ice (i.e. pretend they are mine:o Please don't tell the OS lot
2. make christmas cards (helping sister make her wedding invites this weekend, so hopfully this will inspire me)
3. knitting using the new Sirdar Big softie wool and patterns, it's so quick, easy and looks fab that I'm going to knit a couple of hat/scarf/hand warmer sets as christmas pressies,
4. make a sewn noel hanging decoration. Hmmm, lots of trial and error here I think :rotfl: Now, to find a pattern to follow
5. make DH and myself a christmas stocking for Christmas day.
Now that's a challenge and a half - I can't belive how soon Christmas is!!!!
PS I want to knit my gran a tea cosy, but all the patterns I have seen are rather complicated or not suitable - anyone have a pattern????? I'm happy to sew one if I can't find a knitted one I like.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Well have checked my tracking on the parcel force website and my stuff is due today which means today I shall hopefully spend making bath salts and bath bombs.
Come payday I have my hamper things- platter trays, baskets etc to buy, I have a delivery of books and dvds also due that can get sorted and wrapped
woo hoo to christmas0 -
I really was looking forward to a whole weekend of crafting but the boyf wants us to go out on Sat night and I'v just got free tickets for Ghost Town so I'll have to squeeze in as much as possible around that.
I tested my glass paint and it is waterproof but if you really scrape it with your nail it will come off. But I'm hoping noone I give it to will do that! If your careful you can pull the whole design off and it is like plastic, which is good as it means i can reuse the rubbish first attempts.
Thats alot of knitting r.mac! Good luck, I'm off to google Sirdar Big softie wook now, it sounds lovely! I am sooo tempted to learn to knit but know I don't have time really!0 -
Those wanting googly eyes and pompoms, the googly eyes are only about 70p for a bag full with 2 differetn sizes in Wilkinsons if you have one near you and they sell pompoms too but dont know how much they are. Lots of crafty bits, think they have sparkly pipecleaners too although that might have been in the Works0
