I love the wreath Bravobeastie, i'm planning two work christmas parties and I think I'll do a couple for them, how long did it take you to make and how many bas of sweets does it need?

I've started to decorate some cheap Ikea candle holders with a glass painting Kit I got given last Christmas, I'm going to have to practise alot as it's hard to draw neat with the outliner tube but I'm hoping to make quite a few good enough to give away. I did have a sudden fear last night that they might not be waterproof and I was hoping to decorate some vases and cocktail glasses so I'll have to check that.0

that sounds ace!
I'm hoping my order for epsom salts, books and dvds arrive soon so I can get the hampers sorted, am all excited about it!0 -

I'm thinking of doing one of these wreaths as well and was confused about the same thing. What is the difference between a half knot and a full knot?
Going to keep my eyes peeled for some xmas coloured sweeties now, anyone know some good ones? I want to do a gold and red one for my mum and dad. Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -
Woolworths do some alsorted toffees in gold, red and green wrappers, that's what I'm going to use. Think other places sell them, I'll let you know when I get some. They are cheap too!0

Yesterday Tesco had bags of tiny red, green and white pom poms. Loads in the bag and just 70p. They were in a little section with Christmas stuff. I also got a little bag of felt christmas shapes, ie trees, snowflakes and poinsettas in christmas colours for 70p.
Ikea had lovely ribbons, string and wrapping paper all reasonably priced. They also had a packet of gingerbread large hearts with holes in which could be decorated and used as tags. These were approx 52p for 8. There was also a make your own gingerbread house for only approx £1.95, will pick these up nearly to Christmas otherwise i will eat them!!!
Wilkos has their bags of chocolate coins and snowmen on a BOGOF offer so 99p for 2 packs. Also nice brightly coloured tray sets of 3 different sizes for £3.0 -
Thanks Angie
, I went into my Ikea last week and the Xmas food stuff hadn't arrived yet. Will make another trip to get the houses and hearts next week. I love Ikea so no hardship to go again

Thanks for the tescos tip - our local store are also selling really good value craft items like stamps (I got a flower and a star one for about 2.00 each) and also lovely peel off stickers big book of letters and stickers for all occassions I think it was about 2.50.
I can thoroughly recommend the Ikea gingerbread hearts - I decorated some with icing last year adding names of friends, put them in a nice cellophane bag with ribbon and added to home-made food and drink hampers - they went down a storm. I also used some as place settings for christmas lunch they looked lovely. The gingerbread houses are great too, just make sure to add lots of icing to stick together otherwise it's a bit higgledy-piggledy. I think I used some squeezable white icing in a tube (think it was Whitworths brand), probably not the cheapest way of doing it but consistency was good and it stuck the house together really easily.
Ikea is GREAT for wrapping paper, tags, ribbon etc. Really good quality for the mega cheap price. Ribbon reels are really long as well - last forever!...well not quite but you know what i mean0 -
re the Ikea gingerbread stuff
buy it when you see it as it goes fast!! i had to make my own last year!!!
