  • Shaz - you said it was a mayo jar, can you give me an idea of it's size? I'm thinking of doing something like this for a craft group I go to & so always have 10 small gifts to make at Xmas. I've got about 7 mayo jars so far & a couple of months to get the rest but have been looking at all the recipes in the gift in a jar thread but they all need much bigger jars, so am interested in your recipe.

Was thinking about using the recipe in some of the cakes in a mug as I thought the quantities might fit better, but layering the ingredients instead of putting them in a bag, depends if I can find a recipe that will layer well iykwim!

Anyone got any ideas how long in advance these could be made? I'm guessing since they're dry ingredients in air tight jars it could be well in advance.

BTW great thread - given me far too many ideas!

    8oz SR flour
    8oz oats

Money is scarce and times are hard,
So I'm giving you this, instead of a card.
Christmas cards are a bit of a farce,
But this will be handy, for wiping your ..... nose!

I bought this little gift for you,
    I thought it was unique.
I bet you can't guess what it is,
    So trendy and so chic.

You'll never get caught short again,
Now that you have this chum.
    He's 'Charmin' and he's funny,
And he'll help you wipe your .... nose!

    Hi All

Everything on this board is looking fab.

Am loving the idea of a christmas eve gift box. Think I might get this special little gift together for my son from his magic christmas visitor - it may even arrive as he is having his bath - ie pyjamas, plate, drink, carrots, book, magic dust for reindeer etc and on christmas eve morning his magic friend can give him the biscuit recipe i think to leave out for father christmas

think iwill go off to have a nosey through the gift in a jar thread
    Time to find me again

I have this one on my to do list as well. I also want to make the Cinderella doll in the same booklet for my great neice (now doesn't that make me sound old:eek: ). At the moment knitting wise I want to finish a guernsey sweater first otherwise it will get left forever. So much to do so little time!!!!
