Hi All!!
My chutney is simmering as I speak and the house smells absolutely wonderful. Just need to leave it for another hour and I can then hopefully jar it up. Can't wait to try it in a months time!! Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -

i want to replicate this posh one off the net
Heres my offerring i really needed a slightly bigger jar(this was mayo jar) and next time will put the fruit further down and finish with the oats as there is so much
and of course the finished result
It was dead easy as long as your careful putting in the flour or you get a flour coated jar
I am going to attatch a label with instructions and the full recipe for the next time ...................there will be a next time they were lush
easy idea for teachers at christmas or as part of a baking gift set

Twinks Hobnob Biscuits
8oz SR flour
8oz oats
½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
8oz margarine
8oz sugar
1 Tablespoon syrup
1 Tablespoon hot water
Melt syrup, margarine and water gently in a pan; add all the dry ingredients stir well until it forms dough
Place walnut size balls onto a baking sheet and flatten with a fork, bake gas 6 for about 10 minutes until golden leave to cool on tray a couple minutes before removing
i used half the ingredients except i still used all the syrup but no water and added 50g white choc chunks and 50g dried cranberries i also used 2 different types of brown sugar for visual effect in the jar ie 2oz each
dead easy taste lush

Jarred up my chutney last night. It made 3 big jars and 2 little ones which is just what I wanted. Just have to leave it to mature for a month and me and the OH are going to try it with some nice mature cheddar.
Once I have made up some pretty labels I will take some piccies for you! Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -

This apple chutney smells yummy! My mum and dad always have a gammon at Christmas and I can imagine apple chutney would make a great accompaniment to some cold slices! Not that I would know as I am veggie!! Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0

ShazGlad I took your advice and only used half the amount of ingredients, there are plenty for the 3 of us.

I have made my first official Christmas present. One of the shadow boxes from Home Bargains with a picture of my nephew and I did it like a scrapbooking page, really enjoyed doing it. I'll have to get a web photo album. Have been getting distracted by scrapbooking though this weekendGod is good, all the time
