  • Hehe I'm glad you all like the guinea pig! I love it its so cute and can easily be finished in an evening. I don't know where my local Dunelm is but when I go visit my family I'm going to go in there again see if they have any more!
We thought our real guinea pig would either be scared of it or be curious and smell it but no (as with most thing that go near our guinea pig) he tried to eat it the little cannibal hehe. :D

Been working on my second no sew blanket this afternoon and its nearly done just got to sit and tie the knots which I'm going to do while I watch The Restaurant as thats starting tonight and I can't wait hehe.

  • homebargains currently have some shadow boxes for £2 each. I think that is a pretty good bargain and you could make a fabulous gift with them or give them as a gift as they are to a crafty friend if you're strapped for time!

I bought 2 and I think I'll make one into a scrapbook type frame for my Mum and Dad. Not sure about the other one!

  • thanks for that Sian the green. I went shopping there on Tuesday and didn't see them - gutted. Did you see pinkladymel's shadow box - it was gorgeous!

That's what drew my attention to them :) I don't think I can do anything like that but I can try eh? They had some other things I liked too for some baskets I am doing (the baskets thread is lush!) like some little cards with 50 chat up lines on or 50 fun things to do at work etc for 49p

Hi all! Well, this is it. It's September, and it's high time I started working on my Christmas cards for this year. I have tons of supplies available to me (worked as a stamping/scrapbooking demonstrator for a few years), so I don't have to buy anything - have all the ink, stamps, paper, crafty things I could probably use in a year! :rotfl: (sadly enough, I even have stamps and such that are still new in packaging as I ordered them when I was getting a healthy discount, but haven't used them yet!) We've finally got a huge farmtable in the dining room, so I have plenty of room to spread everything out to work on it. So.... this afternoon I'm going to browse through all the sample cards I (and other demonstrators I traded with) made previously to get ideas for this year's cards. I'll have to put some Christmas music on to make it seem more festive. ;)

Anyone else working on their cards yet? Or am I abysmally late and everyone's already finished them? I will be making the envelopes as well with templates, so that's a bit of extra work, but nice as I can then decorate them.

  • Hi all!

I'm one my last crafty pressie at the mo because I'm running out of supplies!! Gutted! I'm so bored and want to make the blanket but if I do I won't have anything to do hehe! Hopefully will get out at the weekend to pick up some more bits and pieces. Really need to get on with the stack of cross stitch things I want to make.

Siren, I love to do cross stitch - and I have a gorgeous book with beautiful Christmas patterns in it - but then I tend to spend too much getting the right colour threads and then I'm working on it day and night - so I have to stay away for now. Maybe when our DS is a bit older and more self-reliant.
