Really easy Mary. I mean the notebook only took a couple of minutes, bit of paper, double sided tape, couple of stickers - done. The index book took a bit longer. You could do one of these for your grandson. There are 5 dividers and 80 index cards, so plenty of room to write loads of stuff. I used double sided tape on the outside to stick the paper down. The inside of the folder itself I just left, I thought it would be too hard to cover. I took the dividers out, put ds tape on them, stuck them on the paper and then cut round it, and did the same on the other side, then used a hole punch.

melissa I love your covered notebooks, the colours are fab.
I am going to cover a notebook (recycled £1 for 2 from Tesco!) for my mum to go with her journal in a jar. I will use the freebie paper and embelishments I got from my mag subscription (which incidentally I have now cancelled!)

Found this on the Freebie Board...........might be of use -I''ve sent for a few anyway. Not sure how big they are but you can have up to 12 different colours

    Hi all

Just a quick one.. I was looking through some of my old xmassy mags last night and saw a lovely pattern for a fleece with reindeers sewn on... If anyone is interested let me know -the template is quite small -but you scale it up onto 1" squared paper -but you could always make them a different size..or even do holly leaves, snowmen, baubles etc...

Thanks for everyone's comments. I was really disappointed with the pics as you can't really see the details on them.
Pinkladymel - I'm not sure I'll want to see your pics, I know they'll put mine to shame! I thought a pound for the index book was really cheap!
Thanks Rainmac- you'll probably be waiting a bit to see more pics, I am terrible at getting the pics sorted.
Bunbun2 - you got the same kit as me didn't you, the belle one (that's what I used on those bits). I cancelled mine after I got my first magazine!
  • melissa i love your altered bits they are great
