This was just a little piece of wood I stole from my husbands model making stuffPainted with a 10p tester pot (reduced in focus) and adorned with a hand cut butterfly from vellum, chipboard swirl, a 99p embellishment from hobbycraft floristry section and some wooden roses. I inked the edges to make it more *natural* looking.
The card was made with scraps of white card eyeletted together, watercoloured and then stamped with Staz-On so that it didn't bleed.
I hope this gives you some inspiration x

I don't give lessons I am far too shy but I am always willing to give help to anyone who needs it so please feel free to ask me anything. I'm not an expert by any means but I do like to help
It looks pretty professional to me! If you are too shy how about sending some pics of your work to a crafting magazine, it is definitely up to the standard they set for challenges and pieces of 'altered art' are really popular! I think your friend is very lucky to have you. Do keep posting more, it's really inspiringGod is good, all the time
Do something that scares you every day

Thank you so much for your lovely words x
I am usually in Scrapbook Inspirations (I am in it twice this month my name is Melanie Marshall) but In the scrapbooking world (which is what I do) the standard is so good and it is very cliquey so my work is very low standard compared to them.
It is SO nice to come here and have people compliment me I didn't expect it at all. Thankyou so much.

Don't be ridiculous - "my work is low standard", you should see my stuff. Compared to your work my attempts look like a five year old did them. Annoyed now!!! Going to sulk!!!!
I've never bought scrapbook inspirations, I keep looking at it in the shops but always put it back, I might get it next week, now that I know a "celebrity" in there!0 -
HAHA I am not a celebrity NO way. I just submitted a layout to the readers gallery one day and they refused me. Then one day I got an email asking for some work.
It costs a fortune to send things in via recorded, it's stressful and you never see anything in return for it!
I would really love to see your work. I love seeing peoples creations xx:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Hi all!
Just got back from Portsmouth and have to share a bargain with you all!! I was still on the hunt for fleece to make no sew blankets for Christmas pressie for my older relations. Me and the other half found a fabric shop but they wanted £5 a metre and for what I wanted it would work out too much for each blanket as they are going to go into hampers.
Anyway I decided (after hearing how you guys have been using Ikea blankets with success) to try some other shops for blankets instead. I want into Primark and they have a gorgeous range of throws for wait for it...£2 each!! They will be plenty big enough to snuggle under and aren't too thick to cut! They will be perfect for what I want. The woman who served me must have thought it was very cold at mine as I brought 6! Aren't they lovely though and because they have ribbon around them already I don't need to buy any!
The orangey coloured ones are for my nan, the blue and black ones are for my grandad and (although the other half doesn't know yet) the chocolate browns ones I liked and so they will be mine (and a good practise run hehe) Saving hard for a brighter future!:beer:0 -
pinkladymel - I;m gobsmacked at the craft sign...............and just love the way you've done the card. You are clever............:T
Siren - love the blankets......super colours and how you've wrapped them with ribbon makes them look really expensive.:TMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Mel, what can I say, your work is stunning :j . Will you be my friend please? I would absolutely love to receive something so beautiful for a gift. It also means so much more when you know someone has taken the time to make it.
Hey Melissa, don't be down on yourself either, your stuff is Fab with a captial F:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
I've made these little heart chalkboards today using MDF heart shapes from the lady who sells the door hangers on ebay, blackboard paint, some ribbon and a few crystal dots. I'm really pleased with them. Just need to buy some chalk to go with them. I envisage them in kitchens, what do you think? Going to add them to a couple of baskets I'm putting together for Xmas. May use them as a tag or write a Xmasy greeting on them.
May make some more as have loads of blackboard paint left:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
