ok heres a question to ponder on. I have just taken the sky plus box for the £49 - however i can cancel my subscription within a month of receiving the box - does that mean i get to keep the box that i paid for? I was wondering cos they wouldn't let me buy two boxes at £49 so if I can cancel and keep the box then I can cancel sky altogether and get someone else in the house to sign up and let them get the other sky plus box i want for the £49. So i can have sky plus in two rooms using multiroom

    Anyone any ideas?

Tried sky said i need to take multiroom why the rip off company demands this i dont know its the only thing holding me back from having sky+ and paying a monthly sub.
I have been a member from day one sky was started to digital but stopped for a year/plus for travelling and had plans on going back only with sky+ but as it was so expensive etc and they not make any deal i refused.
Now that this one comes along i think maybe i have a chance they still demand multi.
What bugs me more is,i said i have no other tv apart from a portable which is a lie and that did not help but what is no lie is that my sky box i have now is i think faulty not working and i said how can i have multi if this is the case they said i would need to have them come fix it at more of a cost.
What a rip off they are. everything they mention is money,i just said forget it and i better if i went freeview in which i will.
As the £36 channel package and £10 multi and god knows fee for fixing my old sky box its better in my pocket than theres,£46 a month?a little too much dont you think?
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

When I signed up they spoke the terms and conditions. Thats where something like you can cancel within 7 days after install. Im not sure if they come back to get the box. But one thing I read is that sky + will not work unless they add it to your account and pay the subscrition. You prob see loads of boxes on ebay, this is becuase you cant use them without paying the £10 per month.
    Kind Regards

  • I have posted a thread on another board. Basically my DH phoned last night to enquire about Sky+ (we've been a customer for years now) and were told that we couldn't have it for £49 but had to pay £260!! DH went ballistic and told them he wanted to cancel. Well to cut a long story short we are now having it fitted for £65 and get to keep our original box which we will used upstairs.
:DThe world would be a sad place to live with no chocolate! :D

I would be paying the £10 a month anyway - its just I don't want to fork out £100 plus quid for another sky plus box. At the moment there is a skyplus in the living room and an ordinary box in my room - i have bought a new skypkus box for my room for £49 - they wouldn't sell me two :( The one in the living room is acting up and is a year and a half old so i wanted another one to replace it. I think I will have to phone and ask them or see if they can give me a deal for a another skyplus box.

  • I've just ordered mine and I'm not going to be paying extra for the multiroom as I shaved £10 off of my package. I was on the top package but with their new deals I was able to knock off the news channels (which took off Bloomberg, FOX news, SAW and CNBC but leaves BBC News 24, ITV News, Sky News and CNN - so what is the point of that package?) and the kids channels (which lost me the cartoon channels, Trouble, Nick range of channels - BUT leaves the Disney channels and the BBC kids channels - and my tot only watches CBeebies) and that reduced my payments by £10 per month.

All I need to do now is get my Sky+ ordered. Just the whole phone call thing again, spent over an hour calling customer services for various companies already today (all on free numbers :o )
The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j
  • I really want to order the Sky+ box. I've been a customer for over 10 years and have never actually been offered anything from them before. But, I wouldn't need the multi room bit.
We do have other TV's in the house, but one is an old portable and the other is just for the X-box (only one sation works!)
But then again, i don't want to pay the full price for Sky+ we get all the channels apart form movies and disney. Any ideas what'll be best for me?
