Sorry just thought of another question......

If I only have my post office account, for tax credits and child benefit. Will this be frozen???

I need to remove my name from joint account, never any money in there. Just wages paid in and money paid out.

Savings?? that would be nice. I have 5 pounds in a credit union savings plan for Xmas..... how would I list this as only have membership number not account number

i think all accounts are frozen automatically and you will have to speak with the OR to unfreeze it as they will have to speak to the Banks/post office to do this.

i have a basic barclays account which should stay open but i too think it will be frozen immeadiately after the BR then i have to apply to OR to have it undone.

    hope that helps

    Hope that helps a bit

one thing to remember.....not all accounts are always frozen straight away if you explain to your OR the post office account is for benefts only you should be fine

the OR will freeze an account if they have an interest in it (large balance etc or somethings not right in their eyes) otherwise its usually banks that close/freeze accounts once they hear from the OR about your BR depending on the bank these accounts can easily be opened again by the OR.. most banks though apart from co-op/barclays are not the most BR freindly so in some cases depending on who your accounts with it may be closed by the bank for good
