Hve you already spoken the the CAB and been advised that BR is best? If so you don't need an appointment with them to fill the forms out.

Once the form are fileld you ring the court for an appointment, it could be anything from a few days to 6-7 weeks, depends on how busy the court is, and what system they operate. It might be worth giving them a ring now to see what their waiting list is like.

Definitely agree with Peachy on this .. be really annoying to get all the forms filled out and have the money ready only to be told by your court that there's a 4 week waiting list!!

I have had advise from a cab advisor in September who said could file BR in my name as debts in my name. The budget plan they did was for both me and my partner. Wanted to try and pay off but going to take 11 yrs with both lots of money. With just my money will take me even longer. We lose Child tax and Child Ben for one child in 2 yrs time so makes even harder.

Partner got 2,000 of debt. Mines near 11,000 PLUS gas and elec and bt all in my name.

So not sure how to fill in for just me filing. I only get child tax and child bene.

I'm being treated by doctors for depression and find it hard to focus so help from CAB on forms would really make difference for me. Or I'll be panicing I'd done it wrong.

Nothing wrong in getting help from the CAB with the form filling, they have helped a lot of people with it on this site as they are very daunting!!
I think what Peachy was meaning though is that if you wanted to go BR sooner rather than later you didn't "have" to wait to see the CAB.

I would definitely ring the court and find out whether it's drop in or appointment. Once you've completed the forms you'll want to take the next step as soon as possible.

Thanks everyone, yes I would like to get it sorted asap. But in my present state I can't cope with the forms alone. Just been told at lease another 12-24 months on my Anti Ds, by doctor.

I would suggest you ring your local court and see how long the waiting list is. Then make an app with cab to help with your forms. By then you will have an idea of the date for bc and could try and push cab to give you an earlier app esp if it's just to go through the forms with you.D

    Hi get me out :)

I'm in the same situation as you only it's me and my OH! and we owe double what you do! Hey our kids are the same age too, mine leaves school in 2 yrs!

Anyway I'm in court in 2 weeks and also have to fill in the dreaded forms, I can't get to see my local CAB as they're too busy it would be good if there was somewhere online that helped you fill them in, does anyone know anywhere online that shows you how to fill BR forms in?

Don't worry too much GMO! We'll all get there together, at least your not alone :)
Me before I found this forum  And me after going through BR with everyone's help :j

    try the insolvency website. http://www.insolvency.gov.uk

You can fill the form in online too and also has an example of the form. Alsio the CAB website has a help guide for completing the forms, i think it was the north east derbyshire office who were on here couple nighs ago and gave details of the web page.

i will try and find exact page and post it on here
