Bankruptcy Advice and Guide (including forms)

Hi everyone,
We have recently experienced a significant upturn in bankruptcy enquiries including people asking for assistance with the relevant forms (6.27, 6.28 and ex160 - fee exemption).
We are also aware that there are a number of organisations who charge fees for completing bankruptcy forms which you may be able to do yourself.
As a result of the above, we have developed a bankruptcy guide section on our website which includes completed example forms of the above.
Over the weeks, we have noticed a number of enquiries by members of this forum regarding similar issues. As we are not able to answer every post, here is the link to our bankruptcy guide which we sincerely hope can be of some assistance to members:

Hope that this helps and saves you some money!
All the best from NEDCAB

Brilliant work

it'll be well referred to no doubt, it'll be a great help to people (especially the dreaded fee exemption forms) We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Very good.

I have been wondering whether it would be a good idea to do an FAQ on filling in the forms for this board.
Looks like you have saved me/us a lot of effort on that.

Hi,
Thanks for the positive feedback everyone.
Fermi,
From what we are experiencing bankruptcies are on the increase and the indications are that they just might to be about to soar.
With the above in mind we would say that a F.A.Q. section on filling in bankruptcy forms still may be a very good and helpful idea as our guide is really only a basic one and does not cover every eventuallity / question.
Perhaps using a F.A.Q. section complimented by an example form guide may make the procedure much easier for people to complete the forms themselves and possibly saving them a considerable amount of money in the process.
Just a thought.

I might sit down and make a rough start on one over the weekend then.
If I'm going to do that it would be best to post it on here as a thread and ask for people's feedback given their experiences.
Making it a joint "work in progress" would be the best idea. I've got most of the forms pretty much sussed, but there are a few parts on property etc that I've no direct experience on.;)Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I think that's a great idea, fermi. I was thinking of going through the form myself, & giving answers on each point, so I'd be happy to give some input on this. Like you, I have no experience on the property ownership side, but I could advise what happens with council property.I might sit down and make a rough start on one over the weekend then.

I was also thinking of doing one on the steps you need to go through from first having money problems until you're discharged. I think I'll make a start on that one, & post what I've got as a rough draft in a few days. I'd really appreciate anyone else dipping in with their ideas on it too.
