Like you, I have no experience on the property ownership side, but I could advise what happens with council property.

Good.
It will be nice to do it as a group effort.
As I said, I think the best way to approach it will be to post a rough first stab at it. Everyone can then reply to that with suggestions, information, and corrections. I can then update the first post as "the guide/faq" as we go. Eventually it may be worth getting the thread stickied, or re-posted as one if tine/nearlyrich agree.
If people think it's a good idea, then I will put something together this weekend as a "starting point", and we can all work from there.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Sounds good.
We don't really want to overburden the board with "stickies" so it might be a good idea to have a word with the BGs about reorganising them sometime in the near future.
Some things need a whole sticky to themselves, but others could be put in separate posts on a sticky thread; e.g. a thread/sticky with one post as an IPA/O guide, the next post on BRU/Os, the next on cars etc......Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi Wherediditallgo,
Great Stuff, your input would be fantastic, amongst other things we ourselves sometimes have problems clarifying the position regarding rent arrears / suspended possession orders / Council Tax / bailiffs in relation to bankruptcy with local authorities.
Anyway we are all off home pretty soon, so last post.
All the best

I agree. What I was thinking of doing was just one post with the various steps, & each step containing the info, plus links to various charity websites and/or particular posts/threads on here. I might also make it a downloadable Word file once it's finished, so that people could have their own copy for reference for when they can't get online. I'll have a think, & post a rough draft some time this weekend.Sounds good.

Sounds like a plan WDIAG.

If we both make a start on these two things, with help from everyone here, then we can see how it goes and what we end up with.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

If I may put my tuppence worth in, I think all the ideas in this thread are excellent and will be very worthwhile.
I would suggest, though, that each thread is locked to prevent people adding "this is a good thread" type of comment, or just asking questions without actually reading the initial post. In other words, keep it as purely an informative non-interactive thread.0 -

Since this will be very much a "work in progress" where feedback is going to be an integral part of putting the info together, then while it's being done any thread needs to be left open for comment.
If anything comes out of it that the BGs/admins think is worth stickying, then it could be posted in a locked thread eventually,Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I agree. I'll post my draft, on which I'm more than happy to have people give their input for as long as it takes to get a good piece together. Once the final copy has been done, I'll ask the board guides to lock it.

Great idea to do some threads on FAQ as I am sure a lot of people dont like to post their particular circumstances and they will easily be able to find the info they need.
I might be worth doing something about the fee remissions as there still seems to be a bit of confusion surrounding them.

Hi

I found out today that after you take bankruptcy, that you can tax relief from your salary for at least a year, does any one know about this as i have not seen any legislation with regards to this?
Thanks0
