Ladies & Gents
Thanks very much for putting this forum up. Massively informative.
I've just done a bit of financial housekeeping, and it's come to light that I too have been paying £7.99 per month to Policy Admin Services since 2003. I noticed this earlier on today, and rang my bank, who advised that it was related to a purchase from phones4u in 2003. I've subsequently been on the phone to my solicitor and the firm PAS themselves. As a result of some pretty swift dealings by their Customer Services, it turns out that I'm entitled to a refund of £1062 for mis-sold insurance, and £385 in interest.
PAS tell me that they should have refunded me in 10-20 days; I'll let you all know how that goes.
Once again, thank you for the steers in this thread!!

I just wanted to warn any1 who has 'POLICY ADMIN SERV £7.99' on there bank statement.
It is a big con started by Phones4U that is initially 3 months free insurance at £7.99 a month. The thing is they dont send you any mail or the welcome pack they are supposed to and like lots of other people i have been payin it for ages thinking it was something to do with my bank account service. I would be really grateful if any1 knows what to do or if there's any chance i'll ever get my money back???!?!?!?!?
for any1 else unlucky enough to have paid these rip-off merchants for yrs here's the number...........
Policy Admin Service customer services number:
0870 900 6444
be strong they dont seem to understand the word CANCEL!

I am very new to this game and watch Martins:money: video earlier. After tralling through my statements I found Policy administration srvcs ltd £9.99 per month, not having a clue what it was, after a bit of investigation work and a quick phone call to Policy Administration ltd they have aggreed to pay back all of the money plus interest due to the insurance being mis-sold.
 £800 back in my pocket thank you very much.0 -
I realise this is an ancient thread, and for that I apologise but it makes more sense to me to use an already open one than to create new
Does anyone have a postal address for these guys? I do not have access to a phone currently, and have recently discovered I've been paying 6.99 a month for nearly 9 years, thinking it was a bank charge. Headache!
I have no idea what my policy numbers are etc, as to my knowledge I've never had a policy in the first place.
Many thanks.0 -

Look at posts #45, #48, #82, #84 and #88. There may be others.
You might also like to read Policy Admin Services' webpage which also lists an address on their Contact Us page.
I do not know whether or not any of these addresses are still valid since Policy Admin Services went into administration.0 -
Don't know how I managed to not find that web address during my Googling. Thank you so much.0

So a slightly different approach from PCS to other Moneysavers' experiences.
After finding this on my bank statement and reading this forum I emailed them to enquire about the monthly Direct Debit that they have been taking from my account for approx 10 years!
They rang me back this morning to say that they don't believe that the policy was mis-sold and that they have the signed DD mandate. However, as I have had alternative insurance since 2006, if I can prove this then they'll offer me a goodwill gesture.
Has anyone else had this experience and how did it turn out?0 -
For anyone looking and finding this forum recently....
Yes it still works if you contact them and tell them you have found this on your bank statement.
I rang a new number 0333 222 6730 and got through to the customer services. I was told that they would cancel the monthly Direct Debit, they obviously tried to get me to accept that, say thank you and leave it there. But I challenged them saying this wasn't good enough and I shouldn't have been paying this for years etc. etc.
I was told to send an email to relations@policyadmin.co.uk with evidence from my bank of how long I had the account and that it covered me for my phone insurance.
After sending Policy Admin an email, including a pdf letter, I received a reply stating that they will credit my account with a £838.95 refund as a Gesture of Goodwill.
Try it if you find this on your bank statement and see if you can get most of your money back.0 -
I discovered this way back in 2009 and caught them (Barclays Ba:money:nk included) by the balls and got full refund BUT pursued this by contacting FRAUD SQUAD at Scotland Yard BUT to no avail because - Fraud Squad alleged this was a matter of misselling and I would need to pursue this through Civil Action. This was and is not a Civil Case (specially in my case) because they had no documents signed by me the account Holder at Barclays Bank. and this was confirmed in a voice recording by the Bank = I demanded and enforced the Bank to provide the transcript. I insisted on the Bank that they themselves report to the Fraud Squad since technically it was the Bank that was defrauded and an account with the Bank was unlawfully accessed, The Bank refused to take the necessary step BECAUSE obviously if they did the Bank would become liable for negligence. This goes much deeper BUT "WHY THE HELL" am I even putting this down because neither the Bank, Fraud Squad, Government are going to put their hands and protect the general public where an individual may have lost a few hundred Pounds each. Never mind the person (former owner of Phone4U) has pocket over 8 Millon Pounds as per my estimate (by 2009). There is no such thing as "CLASS ACTION" in UK. I recall a Movie 'CATCH ME IF YOU CAN" wake up world internet is here. SPREAD THE WORD.0

I though this sort of thing was normally written in green ink?
If you got a full refund from Barclays then what's your problem? As it happened in 2009 the statute of limitations has now run out anyway.1 -
