This is actually deliberate FRAUD (in my case they were never able to produce any insurance contract in my name & even admitted it to the Barclays Bank who SOB will not take up the mantle and report it to the authorities - grouping other clients similar situation. Banks are in cohots with some ACODIS system which does not obtain signed authority to debit your bank account) Matter should be persuade by the FRAUD AUTHORITIES - but they are covering up (they need to spend gov. money) by claiming this is misselling (for such a situation they need to see signed documents which do not exist). The only thing government acts on are the Street Riots.

Hi,
I've been paying this since 25/07/2010, which is about £180. Is it ok to just cancel my DD with the bank, or should I contact these guys first? I'm not THAT bothered about trying to claim the money back, just want it off my DD list going forward.0 -
If you have kept your papers check exactly what you have signed and allowed. If you have signed written instructions to back to debit your account check when and exactly for when. I am sure that you have not given a blank check., immediately cancel.

Two Weeks ago I noticed this direct debit on my bank statement & queried it with my bank.. Not a bank service charge then? An insurance company... I googled Policy Admin Service & found the thread on here.. I was really annoyed I'd been so stupid never to have questioned the £7.99 monthly direct debit for.... 6 years!!! I contacted PAS & originally they couldn't find my account!! Happy to take the money all this time though! I stated that I'd never knowing taken out phone insurance for any phones especially one I had through phones 4 u 6 years ago & not used in 5 years.. Having read all the posts on here I prepared for a long fight! They took my complaint & advised would look into it & contact me within 5 days.. Which they did when they called saying they had found my direct debit mandate ( I wasn't expecting them to have this as didn't think their records went this far back.
They sent it in the post to me & I felt very deflated when I got it, thinking that was the end of my complaint.. However I rang them back & explained that it must of been mis sold to me & again I expected a fight from them over this, BUT to my surprise the lady on the phone, said they would happily refund my 6 years in FULL plus add on 8% interest £621 in total which would be paid into my account within 5 working days!!! Total result even though they found my signed mandate for it! Thanks to all on here for the basic advice :-)0 -
I had the same problem with these people, I purchased a mobile phone in 2006 from phones 4 u; at this time they told me in store that it came with 3 months free insurance, what they did not tell me was that to opt out after this 3 months I would need to inform them in writing. Now lets be clear these people cleverly disguise their name as policy admin services and not PHONES FOR U (which on a bank statement can mean any number of things); I believed at the time that this was part of my mortgage payment protection, however when switching mortgages recently I realised this was not the case. I looked through all my finances folder for any paperwork related to this and found nothing related to Policy Admin Services. I then turn to the internet and type these words into my search bar and it leads me here where I find out these clever crooks disguise the fact they are actually phones 4 u. I phone their complaints line and express my displeasure that over along period, over £600 had been taken in direct debit payments from my account by them. They tell me I must have opted for the insurance to which I reply that; that was for a free 3 month period only and they reply I had to cancel in writing. (note in all this time I never received any paperwork or welcome pack of any description from them on this product) Not all happy with this I make a formal complaint to them and ask them to present to me a copy of the direct debit mandate, I tell them mandate or not I am aggrieved because I believe this was miss-sold by the mobile phone shop. They inform me it will take 5 days to do so, I hedge my bets and wait, a few days later they contact me saying they have recovered the mandate, (suspicious, because I don't remember signing one) I ask them to either fax or send it to me and they agree to do so. A few days later I receive a letter from them with an attached direct debit instruction. Wait for it: I carry on reading where they apologise this policy was miss-sold to me and to end the matter they will repay all of the £7.99 payments with interest; cha ching!! £649.17p was debited into my account within 3 days. If any of you have had this problem I strongly recommend you chase these people up and tell them you want your money back and don't take no for an answer!!!0

So to cut a long story short I discovered that I had been charged 7.99 every month for the past 8 years!!!! At first I felt ashamed of myself for not knowing this was mobile insurance - i thought it was a bank service charge.
I called up PremierPlan to complain and try to get my money back, they were initially very helpful and took my complaint seriously. they said I would hear back within 5 days - so they could investigate my claim. Impressively someone called me back within an hour and asked many questions about how I was sold the insurance... needless to say I said it was 8 years ago - i didnt even remember the phone let alone what I was told in store!
After about an hour I was told that I would be getting a full refund and an additional 8% payment.. RESULT... OR SO I THOUGHT!
They made me state several times that I was happy with the settlement and would take no further action against them (call recorded) which I did, I was then told the money would be in my account within 5 working days.
I waited the 5 days and checked my account - no refund. I called them again and chased it up, I was told that the money had been paid and it was 'with my bank' - I contacted my bank and they confirmed that no money had been transferred and there is no record of any transfer being processed... I spoke to PP again and they told me to be patient! and wait another 5 working days!
We are approaching the 2 week mark with no sign of a refund which infuriates me as for 8 years they have been able to steal the money easily enough from my account but now have problems with a simple transfer to put it back... sounds suss to me.
I am now considering my legal options - hopefully I will get my refund before I have to go through the hassle - not sure whether to go to one of these debt collection companies or just go through the small claims court but i'm not going to play silly !!!!!!s with these people.
Part of me would like the case to reach court and for the judge to rule that PP has to hand all records of current customers to a third party who will write to each and every customer asking if they still require or whether they are aware they are paying for this rip-off... Policy Admin (aka Premier Plan) would hit the wall for sure.0 -
I recently queried a £9.99 direct debit, I have been putting down to a bank charge with my bank. They told me it was to Emerald Buildings and gave me a phone number.
I rang them and found it was phone insurance I had taken out 6 years (or 75 months) ago for a Nokia N80 and I had been paying this every month after my 3 free months were up. I told them I didn't remember taking out any insurance and wouldn't have anyway as I'm insured through my bank. I felt a bit stupid but asked them for a refund.
They agreed to give me the whole sum back with interest, over £800. I should receive the money in 5-10 working days. I would like to hear from venturoboy, whether he got his money without the legal action.0 -
Lesson learnt here is if anything is free for x months, it may not be free after the x months is up.
So either
a) beware any free offers and/or
b) put a reminder in your diary to make sure you cancel in good time and in line with their cancellation procedure0 -
So I have been hit with the same problem. Called up policy admin services and voiced myconcerns and asked for a refund. I explainedhow I no longer own the phone I brought from phones for u, don’t remembersigning up for insurance, have alternative insurance for my current phone withmy bank llyods tsb and was confused by the ‘policy admin’ name on my statement. When I spoke to policy admin servicesthey asked me to provide proof that I have alternative insurance for my phone withthe bank so contacted Lloyds and they were happy to provide this. Now Lloydstsb use an insurance company called lifestyle services limited for theirinsurance. I then noticed the addresspolicy admin services provided me with to send this proof through to is thesame address as for lifestyle services group. They appear to be the same company, so Im paying twice for my insurance. Policy admin services seem to be a name deliberatelycreated to deceive people by lifestyle services group.
