OS Daily Sunday 8th June 08

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 8th June, 2008 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything ski m through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning.

Early start today as I have to go to work. I hope it's fairly peacful in there. Friday went wrong again and I ended up getting home at 1am. An extra day's pay in overtime, but I was rather hoping to finish early and enjoy a nice meal.
Yesterday we did the Royal Cornwall show. It was a perfect sunny day and very busy, but we were able to get about and park without too long a wait.
As it was the last day everyone was selling off their displays at the end of the day and the OH ended up with a huge sweat pea display, which we lugged back to the car. I guess it was cheap if not awkward.
I think I could have won a prize in the dog section as there were only 2 dogs entered in the Pyrenean class, and so I could have got a third with mine at least! Can't say I want to get in to showing dogs, but I might interest my Daughter in to it.
Not so many freebies anymore. Used to get loads of pens and bags and stuff.... Not much this year.

Well folks it looks like a nice day and I have chores to do... Cheers

    Morning All

Slept in a bit today, made 7.30am. Someone else still zzzzzzzzzing.

Glad you had a nice day at the RC Show N9eav, and lovely to see you posting early Susie and sounding much brighter.

The thread was very quiet yesterday, the nice weather (in some parts) must have kept everyone out of doors.
(((( :grouphug: )))) Smoky - how are you not seen a post for a while though I have been AWOL, P-Piin, Mrs_M,Jayward, and all others and family members (think the sun may have addled my brain) so no offence if not mentioned by name.

 to all others too numerous to mention.

    Morning all,

N9eav, glad you had a nice day - good to switch off from work too. Wonder if the lack of freebies is down to the credit crunch too - everyone having to cut back on everything... :(
Kyle, hope you have a spider-free day!!

D-G, it was very quiet yesterday, having said that I popped by for a read a couple of times, but didn't re-post. Got lots done with sorting out my room (which will lead onto sorting out other areas in house) but felt a bit sad/lonely yesterday & not very chatty. Kids at their dad's which is lovely (alternate weekends) but would have liked some company of my own. Today I'll go for a swim or something & chivvy myself out of it.
Aussie, what a terrible shame for that family. I don't think I would be able to keep breathing, let alone go to church or do anything. :(
Churchmouse, hope it's a good day for your party :)
WMF, it's horrible when you wake up after nightmares & can't settle. Are you sure coming on here won't give you more, lol!!

Anyway, time for a cuppa I think. Catch up later.

    (((((((hugs)))))) to everyone else

looks like its going to be another hot day here. so I have already been to the supermarket. love going at this time of day. can zip up and down the aisles. the shelves are full as they have a nightshift who stock up. all you need to dodge is the man with the big cleaning machine and the assistants doing the internet shopping. fab! spent £60 but had £4 in vouchers ;) should feed us for a while and included some cupboard stuff like pasta.
washing machine is already on. was hoping to get bedding done but husband is night shift and kids will be up late. will see what I can get done later.
other than that I will be gardening, with my sunscreen on....gotta watch the wrinkles!

tea tonight is home made steak pie, and home made strawberry tart.

Good morning everyone! I'm up early as DS has his first day at work - a paper round ;)

Beautiful day here, so we're planning a day in the garden. We need to assemble the chiminea (it was too heavy for me  ) then are going to have supper outside :j

Had a barbeque with friends yesterday, which was delicious.

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Good Morning

    (((hugs))) where needed

No rain this morning! Not sunny yet but it keeps trying to come out, hopefully it will suceed. So todays plan is washing - lots of it and therefore lots of ironing later.

Have also got to pop round (half hour jouney each way) to inlaws to drop off fil's pressie, also being cheezy and will give him his fathers day pressie too. We are out next weekend, mil will not be impressed though. No idea what time we are going as OH needs to phone them.

So will finish my tea and surf on here then put the first load of washing in and clean the kitchen.

    Have a great day.

    Good morning everyone,

Hope the weather is nice where you are - its looking georgeous here!!!

Well, i was rudely awakeded last night (this morning - was 2.40am) by a text from ExOH - saying he was being sick and wouldnt be coming down for the children today. Hmmm, maybe im a bit unsympathetic (im not sleeping well so im grumpy anyway, and the text did wake me) but seams like a time someone who has just got back from the pub might text - not safe to drive rather than too sick to drive maybe!!?? I texted back, then turned it off, and found another text this morning saying he didnt expect me to be up and reply - so about to reply now, although i doubt his phone will be on, saying i hadnt been up but he woke me - i doubt he will feel guilty tho, he never did before!

So all my plans are changing, ive just found some chicken i froze in gravey to defrost so i can make a roast at lunchtime, and DS an i can share the fish pie i took out for my lunch for dinner tonight, not sure what DD will have for dinner as she doesnt like fish pie, there isnt really enough for 2, but as we are having a cooked lunch, it wont matter and will save wasting it. DD will prob be really happy tho, she doesnt like going out with her dad, and although i think DS is a bit miffed, the first thing he said was that he could ring his friend to say he would be home, so thats ok. Im happy, cos i dont have to speak to him/look at him - does anyone else look at their exes and think 'what on earth was i thinking back then!!'? Mind you, if i hadnt i wouldnt have my wonderful children so something good came out of it, even if i will never trust another man again.

Anyway, ive drivelled on long enough - have a lovely day everyone,

:hello: mrs mix, Taplady, Tru, Ivyleaf, Shez, all the husseys and everyone else xxxxxx

Oh, nearly forgot, yesterday i forgot to say THANK YOU to everyone for their wishes re my new LOs!!

    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh, and todays MIA - anyone heard from dlb or CrazyChik lately????

2 lots of washing alread on the line, I hope it's as sunny as forecast.
I have nearly finished the curtains, they are so big I had to do them on the decking, it's the only place big enough to spread them out. I must finish them today as I need to make some bags for the W.I. stall.
We'll probably have a BBQ for lunch, which means hubby cooks.
    Hugs to those in need.
