Hi
We had friends over for dinner a couple of days ago, so used up some Brie and cranberry jelly by putting them into filo parcels. They were really yummy, had rocket and walnut salad with it.
Someone in an earlier post mentioned freezing broccoli and Stilton soup, is this ok? I would be worried it would go funny.0 -
Grill pork loin chops til cooked, spoonful of apple sauce on the top of each, then cheese slices, grill until cheese melts. I saw a programme regarding mouldy cheese, bread etc and its not good to eat, the spores of mould are already through the food, but I must admit ive cut the mould off cheese for years and been ok.0

I tried the pork chop idea with a left over Apple made in to sauce and slices of Stilton. It was gorgeous. Thanks for the idea.0

We had a corporate do at work the other day, massively over catered for it and got to bring all the spare cheese home! I currently have a massive tupperware box in my fridge full of cheddar, brie and blue cheese. I know it will go off before I have time to use it all up so my question is what would you do with it?0

chop or grate into usable size portions and freeze as much as possible.. grated frozen cheese goes straight on stuff like lasagne here.. and in sandwiches for pack ups.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Cheese doesnt last long in my house, swear the males in my house are mice.
How about
Cheese scones
Cheese triangles
Brie and mushroom in puff pastry
Cheese pasties
Pasta cheese sauce
Cheese, in risotto
Cheese toasties
macaroni cheese
Wraps with chesse
Or even just a cheese board with pickles, bread or crackers

I second cutting it up into small pieces and freezing, that way you can get out a variety at a time or just one at atime to cook with. Lucky youWhy pay full price when you may get it YS0

The blue cheese I would freeze in portions and use for making Broccoli & Stilton, Cauli & Stilton, Celery & Stilton soups.
The Cheddar I would grate and freeze in portions to use in sandwiches, toasties, topping pizzas, lasagne, making cheese sauce, etc etc.
The Brie you can give to me!!!! My favourite cheese with a few crackers."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Macaroni cheese, yum.
Toasted sandwiches
Salads
Sauces
Never around long enough in my house to freeze, it does last a good while though.0
