I need to get a job. How can I get a job when I can barely function? How do I find a job? I don't feel able to work, I certainly don't feel employable.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

A lot of people have said it'd be beneficial to have some structure and get out of the house and work.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

well that doesnt have to a job as such ... are you receiving help from the mental services? maybe they could suggest an volunteer organisation willing to take people who have mental health probs.
If not I will go and find a link for a site I know of that puts volunteer positions with volunteers.

feelinggod, i reckon that getting a job, maybe part time to begin with, would be a great venture for you. You'll be able to earn some money for some treats, and get some structure into your day too.Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I got a voluntary job through my local Volunteer Services thing, but the only thing they could offer was Charity Shop work, which I hated.
It was a 2 mile walk each day, and I can't really manage to walk that far, so it ended up costing me money because I had to get a taxi there/back.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
FG, work (paid or voluntary) is good, but only if you can do it. It can also cause more stress, anxiety etc. I think only you would know if you feel you could cope with a job.
I'm going to say good night everyone now, I'm off to bed to watch a bit of BB. Hope you all have a good nights sleep.

I don't think I'll cope with it, but everyone keeps saying it, so maybe it'll be the making of me. I can wait till I've got a job before telling the Incapacity Benefit people can't I?
Basically, I'm so desperately unhappy that I'll do anything, and a job seems to be the general consensus. Just hope it works. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Just hope this works!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
hi,
This is a link to some information from MIND on compulsory detention for those with mental health probs -
* http://http://www.cambsmentalhealthinfo.nhs.uk/services/pboro/the_mental_health_act_-_sectio.html
This is also some info on a charity which may be able to put volunteer jobs with a person.

Remember that a voluntary job maybe less stressful than a Normal job as they are less focused on productivity and possibly more understanding about issues you may have.
