Basically, I'm so desperately unhappy that I'll do anything, and a job seems to be the general consensus. Just hope it works. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Just hope this works!
Hi,
Have you any ideas what sort of volunteer job you would like? You dont have to use the Vol services, if there are any churches around you then they usually welcome people to do alsorts of job from flower arranging to helping with making and serving the teas/painting/games at the mother and baby clubs.
Or enviromental work, there's a charity about that helps people manage their gardens or public open space. If your interested I will have a google and see if I can find it.
I used to help produce a community newsletter in my home town - it folded due to lack of funding but that might be something you could be interested in too.
It worries me a bit that any sort of rejection may hit you hard. Its actually a F/T job in itself trying to find a job and it can be very frustrating.

OH thinks I should just do what I'm qualified for - working in a Nursery. CV looks so blank and I don't know how to explain my huge gap in employement.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

I don't have the urge to do anything at all, but at least doing what I'm qualified for it should be slightly less scary.
Need it to be paid work so I can pay for taxis there and back.
There isn't anything within walking distance.
I enquired about voluntary work with children, but volunteer lady said I couldn't do that.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Just had a look at the site suggested in this post, by tigsteroonie. It looks good, I'm going to give it a go.

Did she give any reason?
well what sort of things around you are within walking distance ... sometimes you have to think outside the box, how about schools - they always need people to supervise afterschool clubs, or help out with reading etc in the classroom.0 -
Oh Katie, don't read too much into it. Yes, it was last minute, but as she hadn't told you the board meeting was on Tue til Mon so it's not your fault! It was still in on time. Hopefully it'll be fine, try not to worry anymore about it for now.

I explained that I suffer from quite bad anxiety, and although qualified, I wasn't ready to lead activities myself just yet. She said that the schools only wanted someone who could jump in feet first.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
