hi - if this is in the wrong place pease forgive me and move me wherever i should be.
This is just a question regarding my sister - she is disabled (physical) has been for 10 yrs (she is now 37).
she has gone into respite (10 days ago) so that she can be weaned of the anti-depressants that she is on and put onto another one. I have spoken to her every other day on the phone and all she can do is worry and cry. I am going to see her on friday - i love her to bits but how do i deal with this do i just let her cry and whinge or do i get stern with her. Please don't think i'm mean but i don't know what to do.Wins in 2013 - Jan - Heinz No Noise Ketchup.0 -

hi,
I think the best approach would be to be supportive and positive - sometimes just knowing you have someone to talk too can make all the difference. I cant think of many things worse than withdrawal and it must be pretty bad if theyre making her an inpatient.
Taking her things to do (games, colouring books - I can highly recommend adult colouring books, making things such as cards etc may help her to take her mind off the cravings.

hi,
It hard being supportive as often you can see what needs to be done but the person doesnt or doesnt take action to resolve it - it can be very frustrating. Its nice just to feel listened too though, hence why I often ring/visit the Smaratins as they just listen to you fro as long as you need.
I got my adult colouring books off Amazon (£3-£4) but I have heard that Morrisons do a Geometric patterns one at around 49 pence but its not always available apparently but if you have one near you then that may be good.
I also like doing puzzles, I get mine from either Aldi (dead cheap) or WH Smiths but loads of places do them.

I heard today that someone is interested in adopting Mayo
Asked Mr C how he felt about adopting her, and his reaction was pretty indifferent - I'm not sure if it's about money (ie that I still don't have a regular job), or if he still doesn't think we'll stay together.0
