Not just women- i cant /wont go out on my own! Its too sad !

Not sure if this is strictly okay but going to tell you anyway if you have an orange phone which has internet access you can by pass their system and do all the usual communication for free (Orange unlimited internet access adds about 8 quid a month to your contract bill)

Use a computer to register with www.datingdirect.com one of the big two websites just get yourself through the register free bit do not subscribe or pay for membership.

Get your phone and put in www.orangeuk.datingdirect.co.uk you will find you can use all the services for free (other than the cost of web access on your mobile) send and read emails and have instant message conversations with other members.

You can also see pics and read profiles a bit fiddly on the phone but simple to use especially if you have one of the new 3G PDA's with a touch screen.

Hope this is okay don't post to often cos Im always scared I'm gonna get it wrong but have been using the site myself for the last two months for free like this just use the normal computer to check for messages, winks etc then if someone I like has sent me an email switch to the phone to read it and reply.

They rely on the fact that once you get a message from someone your going to want to read it to get you to sign up and it's really expensive cost me 29.00 for one month then discovered the bypass system so not paid since!!

Back in December when I became single (again!) I signed up for a few free dating services using the website called freeukdating.org

I only really use 3 of those that I signed up for though because the rest were quite spammy :mad:.

One is called Pocdao and it was free to sign up to. The others are called loopy love which i check now and then and then there is a worldwide one (the others are good because they are UK only) which is called Mate.

Thanks to the last poster about the orange mobile phone thing - do you know if it works with pay-asyou-go?

As long as you have internet access yes and just use it to read and send emails rather than search the site or send winks etc! do that on your computer to keep the costs down.;)
