I'm not paying per message, I'm paying the minimum fee to become a premium member for a month so I can read and send messages. It's not a scam.Happy chappy0

I would say go for it. I met a lovely bloke through the site and we are now living happily ever after..........My chap was definately worth the expense and I went on several other dates before meeting him, and met some nice, normal blokes who just wanted to meet someone....i.e some ran their own business from home and didnt meet many gals!
If you could meet a person you want to spend your life with, is £25 such a big deal? Over a lifetime I'd say that's value for money!!
Just to add I know LOADS of mates at work who are using it, all female, (I work in the NHS so lots of nurses), and it is really becoming a very common way of meeting up.......much improved on the cattle market of bars and clubs!

Well I've joined https://www.parentsalready.com and I think it's brilliant value for money if you want quality as well. You can upload profile, photo and search database for free etc. There's also a list of preset messages you can send and receive for free and it doesn't cost to send out a personal message either. The people on there are really nice, friendly and 'normal' (like on here, Martin!)
The crunch comes when you want to open a personal message sent to you but the site says that at least you can establish whether there is a mutual interest before you DO cough up. Its only £16.95 for three months, and as a full member you can also chat live 1-2-1 on two different chat systems, chat in a forum type thing and use a message board for advice. The members even organise social dos to get to know each other. Some bloke wrote on the message board yesterday that it's the best site he's seen on the net!0 -

UPDATE: well I finally paid up £25 after receiving another message alert. I've joined up and replied to 2 mails. That was a few days ago, I've not heard anything since.
Maybe I've wasted £25. It doesn't matter though since I made £120 on a Casino bonus offer earlier in the week. (I'm not a gamblber, but I exploit gambling loopholes a la MSE forum).Happy chappy0 -

I have used this site in the past and it is one of the better ones...
I liked https://www.faceparty.com a bit more of a laugh....but really it's hard to find many decent ones.....an associate of mine is having a ball (0r 50) if that floats your boat...It wasn't for me but I would certainally recommend these sites....0 -
I have read most of the threads re dating online. I would like to give it a go (being a single /separated parent) but there seems to be a majority of negative comments. This is strange as the negative comments come from people who seem/sound really nice - it makes me think that there are in fact lots of nice 'normal' people out there looking for an on line date.....?
Do I try the free ones eg PlentyofFish or go for a pay site where I presume if people are paying they are more likely not to be timewasters?

TBH I'm bored by dating sites. Maybe real life could be the answer?
Whatever!Happy chappy0 -
Hi Tom,
I met someone a few years ago from this web site http://www.datetheuk.co.uk/ 3 and a half years later we are still together, have bought a house. I was actually more after just a few dates, making friends etc and I'm sure I was able to specify whether I was after friendship/ a relatonship/ a casual fling etc but then I just met OH and the rest is history.
I think these websites can be a useful way to broaden your social circle, it was obviously 3 and a half years ago and I think I could join and make a profile for free, but to read/ send messages I had to pay £10 a month. My OH was the first one I met up with, he only lived 5 mins away from me and we both agree it was the best £10 each we ever spent!
Best wishes, sarah xYesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0
