Hooray! I knew I'd seen this thread on here ages ago (before I was single  )

A friend of a friend has recommended Guardian Soulmates - Martin never did set up a singles forum on here to meet like-minded money savers did he. Maybe we should suggest it :money:

That is certainly one of the best ones in my opinion - in fact Guardian Soulmates, Natural Friends and LoveandFriends.com are by far the best ones I have seen. On most of the others I have looked at people hardly seem to make any effort to make themselves stand out or to put their personality across - after about the tenth page of people who "like nights in and out" (as oppossed to what exactly!) or whose sole hobby/interest is "enjoys going to the gym" [really?] you start to lose the will to live....... They may be interesting, intelligent, great company, etc but you woud never know from their profiles!

I'm a bit apprehensive about posting my own profile but I suppose it's only fair if I'm reading other people's...I'll need to try and make it stand out and not say I like nights in or nights out (as you say, competitionscafe, what other kinds are there!) :)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
https://www.okcupid.com worked for me. Completely and utterly free, it survives on advertising revenue and donations. When I realised this, I pre-emptively lobbed them a donation.

  • Hey everyone,
I tried match.com and Dating Direct but found that most of the people weren't paying members so they couldnt read or reply to my messages.

I've been to a few Speed dating events with the Single Solution. I thought they were really well run and lots of fun - even had a few dates after ;)

They have also just launched a really cool looking website where you can do online dating with no months fees. You just pay for each message you want to send. I got some free credits for registerting so I'm just playing around with it at the moment. Seems pretty good though.

    Anyone else on there?

Plenty of Fish is a good one (already mentioned)

Not sure if https://www.freedating.co.uk/ has been mentioned though. That's another good free one.
