I don't know what I would have done without the support on this thread when my Dad was suddenly diagnosed with terminal leukaemia. We got him in a fantastic hospice and he died about four months after the diagnosis.

I agree with the comments that you need to be good to yourself.

Have you thought about trying posh charity shops for curtains? It isamazing what you can find and getting then cleaned would not cost too much and save your sore arm.

Will be dashing round over the next couple of days taking stuff to laundry as washing machine conked out and sprucing up house ready for a viewer on Saturday - thought they were an extinct species nowadays.;)

Might do salad for tea again as it looks like a nice day. Have some home made lentil soup left over to have for lunch.

yesterday was a lovely day here. got loads and loads of washing done, so ironing pile is huge :( might think about that today...might think...not actually do though!
DS went to see Uni, but ended up stranded when the trains stopped due to a signal failure, however train company did put on a bus eventually. they eventually got home at 8.30 so after I had run all his friends home I missed first half of apprentice. :(
yesterday bought a lot of bedding stuff at B and Q, and I have planted some of it, but I need some compost to fill some more tubs. hopefully OH will be able to come with me today to do the lifting.
hope to meet up with friend to get some gossip done.....

    Morning :hello:

    ((((((((beth))))))))

r.mac - I hope the morning sickness passes soon. How far gone are you?

Am in the office today which seems a shame as the weather's so beautiful! It's Saturday I'm going to Glyndebourne (to see "The Coronation of Poppea"), and hope the weather is as nice then (though I don't think it's meant to be!)

redruby - I hope you manage to get some tickets for the Tour, as it's much more reasonably priced than the Festival with seats starting at around £20 I think, plus it's a lot more informal. There are some affordable seats and standing places available for the Festival but they get snapped up at the start of booking, and because Glyndebourne doesn't receive any public funding, they aren't under any obligation to make sure that a certain quota of affordable tickets are available. I normally grab myself some standing tickets for a couple of events there a year (about £15 a ticket) but am being treated by my friend on this occasion in return for a favour that I did him last year which led to us getting some last-minute FREE fantastic seats for an otherwise completely sold out show that we were both desperate to see :D

It still all adds up though when you factor in the train fare, bus transfer (or cab share), food and drink, programme and so on! Am doing a picnic for this Sat: HM bread rolls, parma ham and melon, Greek salad, Jersey Royals potato salad, salmon for the main course, and tiramisu for afters. You can buy catered picnics on-site for about £40 a head    so I definitely prefer my version _pale_

I've got my ballet class tonight, then need to call into Tesco on the way home to pick up the bits of picnic ingredients which I couldn't get from Aldi on Tuesday.

    Love Rzl xx

Forgot to add, I bought a pump flask 1.9 litre from lidl yesterday.

    £4.99, wanted one for ages.

Now I fill the kettle, boil it once then fill the flask, hot water all day for brew's and stuff, no need to use electricity to keep boiling the kettle.:D

The GF is away for weekend (yay peace and quiet) then we are off Camping on Monday. Yay a holiday not the original holiday (Athens) we were going to have but should be fun nonetheless.

    Morning all,

I would like to thank each and everyone of you who have shown me such support and kindness, I am overwhelmed at the response to my cry for help, and you have helped enormously. I will answer everyone who sent me lovely pms later as I have to take the curtains to the house now and steam clean some furniture.

I managed to make 4 pairs from some I had in the linen cupboard, a bit of jiggling and altering has saved quite a bit. Finished hemming them at silly 'o clock, at least it kept me occupied.

We have the first viewing at 1pm. DH has root canal work at Dentist at 11am so he will drop me off as I can't drive my car yet.

Have pulled out a chilli from freezer for dinner, DH did the rice, I told him to use 2 cups but he used 2 huge mugs so now we have enough rice to feed Beijing.
Lots of hugs to you all, x

    Hi everyone,
I need help this morning and I think you might be the people to ask. We received an email this morning from a topcashback site which talks about earning money from clicks. I haven't the foggest how this works. We are thinking of buying some bedroom furniture from MFI which are currently offering 8% cash back through this site. How do you go about this and does it really work? If this isn't the right forum can you please tell me which one to go to. Many thanks for any assistance given. Hope everyone has a good day

HOW MUCH!! I can see one or two of the builder hubbies heading north at that price. Think you need a load more quotes, maybe see if anyone knows a bricky who does weekend jobs.

    ((hugs))
