And just a quickie....
Can I split this now? Or will it harm it if I do?

Is it also possible to train something like this to spread in a certain direction? To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
I think the seed heads are from grape hyathuis
(sp?)Always on the hunt for a bargain0 -
Poppy! no chance. It's a carrot. Break open the orange bit at the bottom and smell the carroty goodness.
Don't know about the other 2; the potential foxglove or the seed head. But wait until the last one has finished flowering before splitting it. They don't like it when they are flowering.0 -
The foxglove is not a foxglove, which has broader hairy leaves is a sort of rosette. The seed head looks like a grape hyacinth. All I seem to hear is blah blah blah!0

Have we found out what it is yet.
I'm sure I had one of these last year I got from a friend :T and it turned into a poppy, but it sort of laid down and flopped when it strted to grow :rotfl: then flowered it looked really nice , maybe it wasnt a poppy but it was quite nice anyway:j mortgage free as of 06/02/2008#

That's because it is a carrot. Not a poppy. Poppies have wider leaves, and start life as a little cross shaped seedling. Carrots have two long seed leaves, and lots of feathery foliage. Like the carrot in your picture.
Did I mention that it is a carrot?
If still unsure; carrot seeds are tiny, and quite elongated although still tiny. Poppy seeds are slightly larger and round. Have you still got the packet?0 -
I would say it's a carrot too
