Yes the few bits I found with a quick trawl indicate a lot of use in homeopathic remedies - the root mainly although it did say the berries were edible further reading indicates they are good for colon cleansing and may act as a laxative - moderation I think may be the key!! Did find one recipe for Lamb using the dried berries but will have to find out more.

One thing to watch with plants that are used in homeopathic remedies and/or reported to be edible ..... these statements often refer to the "wild" variety. Very many varieties grown today are hybrids and could well have very different characteristics. So be very, very cautious about eating anything from a garden variety plant.

I'm not very green fingered but I recently planted a number of flower seeds in the garden. Now a large plane has popped up and I'm not sure it is one that I planted. Please could someone help me identify it:

yep agree with powershopper, a broccoli of some sort.
  • Yeah, or possibly cauliflower/cabbage but certainly looks like something that should taste great with a sundar dinner in a few weeks!

Can anyone help me identify a plant that is growing in my greenhouse. I sowed aubergine seeds and this plant came up in amongst them. It has the potato leaves and a white flower with five petals and a yellow centre. There are lots of fruits on the plant that look like small tomatoes.
    Any ideas please?

Looks like a potato plant that's gone to seed!
