I also took the three month half price deal with sky, which ran out on tuesday.I rang sky the operator was not very helpful in any deals so i asked to speak to sombody about taking out sky alltogether,i spoke to another operator and i told him i had a better offer of 23.00 a month from ntl (a lie!!!)he then offered me the half price offer for another 3 months which takes me to febuary!!!!!!!hope this helps. ;D
My original 3-month offer was due to expire today so I rang Sky and said that I wanted to cancel to move to Telewest as they offer the first month free (which is true - they don't need to know I can't get Telewest services due to living in a flat ;)). They then offered me, immediately, a further three months half-price! ;D

Forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong place, but I really can't afford Sky anymore and will cancel after Christmas. Can anyone tell me what freeview channels I will get without the card? AnnieP

as izzy flint said, you get the same as the freeview gets, ie bbc1/2/3/4 cbeebies, cbbc, itv1,horror channel etc,etc you do get itv3 but not itv2

Also if you have an old cable feed going to your house you can pick up extra channels via this. ie sky one, tcm,

  • Hey guys,

I have Sky Movie World and Family Pack so I currently pay £35/month. If I call them up saying X-mas is coming, can't afford it etc, do you think I can get the package at half-price for three months?

    Thanks
  • Yep, if it doesn't work first time, phone up again and ask.

Don't see why not. It took me a couple of phone calls before they relented and I got 3months 1/2 price.

rang sky - re. reduction in price unless I was going to ntl - after a bit of haggling I was offered 13.50 for family package for three months but we wanted the movie channel so settled for one free month of movie channel to see whether I would like to subscribe or not. Okay for chrissy movies.
    ..
  • I tried this i got everything for 30.00 a month and was not a family pack memeber..thanx for the tip

  • I decided to give this one a bash, too...seemed less stressfull than trying to cancel in hope of being offered a carrot.

It worked! I used the original code given (ty OP!) today and although it is working out as £29.98 per month for Sky World, as opposed to OP's £20.50, it's good enough for me! Channels were active within 1/2 hour.

For anyone considering trying, I was already a 'customer' if that's the right word, on the £19.50 family package, outwith my 12 month contract. So it should be ok for other existing customers.

No awkward questions were asked, in fact the young guy I spoke to was amazingly patient with me (I am a few days into a new billing period, which created problems with my Direct debit payments, and he was happy to explain the payments to me until I was totally sure of what would be debited each month).

Go for it, you've nothing to lose!
