I stayed at Travelodges up and down the country and have never had cause to complain about anything and I have always found the staff friendly.
I have often seen the laundry van in the morning delivering the fresh linen and the used linen lying outside the rooms ready to go to be laundered.
As for glassware, never seen any in a travelodge room, only a disposable plastic cup in the bathroom for rinsing your mouth after cleaning your teeth.
At £19/£29 a room a night,it`s cracking value.0 -
I have recently been staying in Travelodges in £29 rooms on a trip through England - It would appear that in the midlands - and maybe nationwide - they have transferred their car parks to a separate company and they are now classified as pay and display at £3 minimum charge per 24 hours. So be prepared to have to fork out another £3 when you arrive at yours.
As far as Blackpool is concerned, there is little free parking in the town and the traffic wardens are demons. The only place I know of is the Station rough suface car park, which is £3 per day pay and display - anywhere else in town costs a lot more for parking!!John0 -
It is not only cheapy travel lodges etc that are not as clean as you would expect / like
my friend used to be a chamber maid at a very expensive hotel, and some of the stories she told me ................ !!0 -
Just booked a great deal with Travelodge, they now have hotels in Spain and I have booked a family room (for 2 adults and 2 children) for 2 night in Madrid City Centre for 20 Euros per night for the end of July, what a bargain!0

The posts regarding price changes on booking mirror our many experiences with Travelodge . This happens too often and too blatantly to be anything other that policy - we should ask the person who wrote their booking software for confirmation !
However they still represent good value and convenience for travellers . We have had no problems with cleanliness , just a shortage of towels and pillows .
We looked through the whole of a month for a cheap room in Belfast - nothing doing there . Why don't they tell you where and when you can get the rooms - they'd be filled in no time .0 -

Hi Marich
Belfast seems to be a very popular weekend place and still has insufficient hotels to meet demands - I live here and on checking regularly - I find that the price always stay high and seem as high as Central London. Offers never include BelfastJohn0 -

They also have the one cloth for the room, which cleans both the glasses and the bathroom. Some of the rooms don't even have hot water.
Next time I stay in one I shall definitely check the bedding before I sleep in it.
Maybe that was the case in whichever one your son works in. But I used to work in the Edinburgh one and they are clean. There is a lot of work put into making sure the place is spotless. And as for one cloth, that's rubbish. Maybe your son just isn't doing his job properly. I'm sure he could ask for a different cloth?Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
