    Yes, I would too. This has kind of already happened to me. We got a speeding fine in France, but split it.

    Why should you, if he was speeding would you pay towards the fine?

    If he knocked somebody over would you pay towards there hospital bills?

    The driver is responsible for the safety of himself and the passengers.

    The driver should pay the bill, an idiot would offer to pay towards the costs.
