MONEY MORAL DILEMMA. Would you contribute to the cost of repair?

Yes, I'd pay too. It's only fair.I have to get back to work, when I stop rowing the slaveship goes round in circles.0
-
I'd pay my share towards it too. But then I would also be grumbling that none of us thought to take out car hire insurance (questor £20) to cover us. I'd have rather spent the £5 just in case than ended up having over £100 to contribute!0

I'd certainly offer to chip in, £500 between 4 is only fair, the guy offered to drive after all and helped improve the quality of the holiday. It could happen to anyone.
I'd hope the favour would be returned on the next holiday if I offered to drive and something similar happened.
Anyone who did not offer to share would either not get invited on the next trip or have to drive next time.0 -
He always hogs the bathroom, picks his nose while driving, has that annoying facial tick, and always picks the most expensive dishes when we're having dinner, then asks to split the bill. And don't get me started on his snoring when he's had a drink.
Hey, not really, I'd split the repair bill. Besides, we should have used MoneySavingExpert to find a cheap insurance policy to cover the excess.0 -
Absolutely. I would pay. I've had the benefit of being driven around, so it's only fair.
It's encouraging that so many on hear feel the same0 -
Not 100% sure. If I was the driver, I wouldn't accept any money off my passengers - the accident was my fault...
I think, as the passenger, I might offer something toward it, probably not an even split, but something to lessen the blow...0 -
This one is a non-dilema, of course you pay your share.
Now the dilema would have been more if the guy had insisted in having one more glass of wine or beer at the bar before he drove the group, then had a tailender or similar.
Now your slightly worse for wear mate is in trouble and it was much more his fault. Do you help bail him out?0 -
No because I would have wanted CDW insurance and handily the capital one card includes this insurance free rather than the 10e a day I would have had to pay recently in portugal.0
-
Of course I would contribute, but I would have advised him to take out excess waiver insurance when booking the car. so there would have been nothing to pay0
-
I'm confused. Is it not like someone dropping and breaking something valuable and everyone contributing to that? If 1 person was driving and had an accident due to his own driving surely he should pay?0
