I'd make the driver pay if he'd being driving like an idiot and I'd said so and I were not a driver myself. Otherwise, I'd contribute some or all of my share.

  • Oh yes I would definitely pay because one of us should have helped him park the car in such a busy spot.

Not really a dilemma - I think we're all heading in the same direction.

I'd pay - especially if it meant I had a driver all holiday. As a driver myself, I know how annoying it can be to be relied on to stay sober / pick people up / generally act like an unpaid taxi.

If the driver hadn't hired the car, then it would've cost a lot more in taxis buses etc all holiday - highly inconvenient
Always on the hunt for a bargain.

Always grateful for any hints, tips or guidance as to where the best deals are:smileyhea

Yes I would too and I think most people would given that the group have agreed to hire the car so they can enjoy the holiday. Presumably they are sharing the hire costs etc already too.

Now if people we had become friendly with at the hotel had invited us for a drive in the car they had already hired and this then happened it would be different!

If it wasn't due to fooling around, I'd pay.
I reversed into a lamppost years ago, so I know it's not easy to see.
