  • I was made redundant last September and have managed to live debt free since then. I got my redundancy money - not a lot I hasten to add - and am living off money that I had saved for emergencies when I had been working. Its been a struggle, its more that Im finding it difficult to find work than choosing to do this :p but ive met the bills each month and had to cough up my flat mates half of bills on occassion as well (bit unconsiderate is he, he doesnt budget for anything)

I stupidly thought since it'd had £475 worth of work on a service in May, it'd be okay

It's how long I was unemployed and not in debt, i.e. the life of this diary

Mum's Egg Money card, so basically I have to clear it by August 1 or find somewhere else to shove it

I realised it wasn't fair to have my debts on mum's card because it complicates things for paying off (see non-DMP diary!). So I phoned my old credit card and asked if they could do me a BT deal, 6.95% life of the balance! :D Not bad eh. So I can tackle that on my own now.
Apparently my expenses have been approved so should be receiving a cheque for nearly £150 soon, so that'll help.

Still waiting for expenses, still waiting for Tax Credits (apparently, they'll be with me by Friday, pfffffffffft )

Got the extra wages from old job but for some odd reason they've taxed me on them

Think I've blown the other job offer too.

The last cheque for the previous debt went out today so that's that little drama over with.

I'm meant to be due my tax credits money Monday so have everything crossed for that coming through.

Holiday is booked. If anyone's going to have a go about holidays when in debt - £200 of it is from a competition win, £100 is from another comp win where I swapped the vouchers with my brother for cash and I have the rest from saving for the past year about £20 a month plus a teeny bit of matched betting. So I think I deserve it.
Also, the debt will be gone once I get the owed money so it can wait.
