mrsmoneyspender, are you sure it was our budget planner. I assure you there's ABSOLUTELY NO COST whatsoever and no subscription necessary, it goes against everything i do and believe in.
It may be the software you are opening the budget planner on is on a trial - that's all i can think of - i hope the techies can help.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

The correct link to download the Excel Budget Spreadsheet is Here please ensure you enable macros in order for the budget to function correctly. You will NOT see any trial messages etc as they have not been programmed into it.
If you have Microsoft Excel installed on your computer (PC) then please feel free to use the above link to re download the file ensuring you enable macros.
If your computer is a MAC / Unix based machine or have installed an alternative spreadsheet program eg Open Office, Microsoft Works, Wordperfect Office etc please
Click Here to use the "Online Version"0 -

I did see somewhere in the last 17 pages I have read through ( :wall: ) the reasons why the sheet is password-protected, which I can understand. However, I also saw a comment that said any suggestions for future versions would be considered.......
.....and so my suggestion (or question, I suppose) is......
Would it possible to have a vesion of this sheet that has all cells except the description boxes protected? This would allow users to personalise the descriptions allocated to cells but still maintain the protection of the formulas etc. I'm no Excel expert but I know it's not too difficult to achieve;
The above was taken from here .
Waiting in anticipation with fingers crossed...............
I agree. It would be really useful to be able to change the expenditure descriptions.0 -

Could I make a suggestion? I've read all the comments and appreciate the frustration of all this computer stuff (actually, I only understand 1 out of 10 words typed, to be honest). For once, I managed to download something and it's worked brilliantly! One quibble now is I can't compare what I want my budget to be and what it is at the moment. Is there a way to see side by side my actual "monthly" and "desired monthly" [with highlighted areas to focus on?] - which does not involve printing out? (ink too expensive - how sad am I?)
I'm sure there must be people like me reading all this, who are finding wading out of debt like wading out of treacle. A comprehensive, realistic budget sheet is v. v. fab and it would be even fabber if our confused situation could be clearly shown to us by the lovely Martin in stark contrast to our confused reality. What better focus and motivation ?
Regards all
Opticopter (always spinning).
PS. :money: TO Pessimistic and Bankcrupt
To any who read this and find themselves pressing down on the top of their heads and wanting to scream until their vocal chords shred into the finest silk threads, please note that you are probably sharing that feeling with more people in this country than any one yet has been brave enough to actually calculate and certainly more than 23 out of 60 million that you may have calculated. That figure has been picked out of thin air, because when a person rationally tries to determine how alone they are, the subjective figures are usually inaccurately subjective. Take heart "mon brave", you are so, NOT alone....
TO DO:-
a. Remember - This all do-able :j
b. Fill in Martin's sheet (write out your own, if the techie stuff is instantly unsurmountable)
c. Contact Consumer Credit Counselling Service - https://www.cccs.co.uk
c. Admit to your creditors your real situation and understand that they would rather have £1 per month from you than nothing at all (How rich are all they???? - I'm sure Martin agrees)0 -
