Sorry SRA it doesn't work for me - I think the link is broken.. Has it been amended, updated, moved, changed name?

I just clicked the link again and got the budget spreadsheet straight away

The only thing I can suggest is that you navigate to the "Budgeting Webpage" or just Click Here and once the page has loaded press and hold the CTRL key and at the same time press the F5 key.

This will result in your browser eg internet explorer displaying the most upto date webpage. Now scroll down to the download budget link & try again.

  • Tony H,

Just thought I would ask you this question as I have downloaded the MSE budget Planner that you put together, however I am getting an error message every time I try to click one of the buttons.

It is suggesting that the Macros in this project are disabled and referring me to the website for technical help. I am running Win 2k, under MS Excel 2000.

Any suggestions? Message actuals says this:
"The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros."
  • Hello Tony,

I'm afraid the link takes me to an error message 'The Page Cannot Be Displayed'.

I'll pop back tomorrow to see whether the situation has changed.

    Thanks

EDIT: Disregard. The link is working fine today.

I have tried again and keep getting the following message:

"Macros in this workbook are disabled because the security level is high, and the macros have not been digitally signed or verified as safe. To run the macros, you can have them signed or change your security level."

This is brilliant. So easy to use.

Just one question though, can I password protect it so that my children and their friends can't read it. If so how do I do it.TIA
  • Hi, being an OpenOffice user (you can't get better than 'free' - see http://www.openoffice.org), I've created a compatible version after modifying the macros created by 'Tony H'.

Functionality is the same, except 'Save & EXIT' only saves (at the moment - it is late!)

I'll email it on request, or post a link, if approved by the copyright holder...

abwsco - to secure the file, try http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/learnmore/encryptdata.mspx

To fix this, open the MSE spreadsheet. On the Security Warning dialogue that appears, click Details - View Certificate - Install Certificate - Next - Automatically select... - Finish. Click OK several times and return to the Security Warning dialogue. Now tick 'Always trust macros from this publisher' and click Enable Macros. Close Excel (you don't need to save the sheet if you haven't changed anything on it) and reopen the spreadsheet; now you don't get the Security Warning.

Sure, you can use the standard Excel .xls file password protection. To do this, open the spreadsheet, on the File menu click Save As. Click Tools - General Options and enter a password in the Password to open box, then click OK. Reenter the password and click Save.
