reporting a 1.8kg loss this week, so calorie and fat counting just got a big tick in the column. I'm not convinced that my current diet is healthy though - my fruit and veg consumption has dropped through the floor, because I just don't have enough 'room' for snacking in my diet. Plus it's always really temting to not eat things that i don't really want so that the numbers look better. And I know fruit is healthy and that but I don't really enjoy eating it all that much, it is a real effort. Dead pleased with te loss though!

Thanks for the instructions bbabe - here is the action shot!

I have just weighed in and only lost 1/2 a pound this week but actually am happyish as we really overdid the socialising at the weekend - not so mad this week so hopefully aiming for 2 lbs off next week!

To be honest I have been 'healthy eating' for a long long time and just stayed the same weight.

After 10 days or so of calorie counting I have lost 3 lbs so :j :j :j

At last the scales are going the right way:T

great action shot kpc, could you just turn around for a mo and wave:D . Well done for a good loss:T . Calorie counting is looking good for you. It is a pity about the fruit, but are you eating load of veg? If so you are probably ok. Perhaps try just one piece of fruit a day on top of plenty of veg? Do you think there is a risk with sw of taking the free food as an excuse to pig out a bit too much, rather than learn to listen to body telling you it is full? Delly - you should do well after your practice run with wwcore plan knowing when you need food and when you don't. Though sw also stress if you feel hungry you are not eating enough and that always worked for me.
A sts for me this week please Lois and I am quite happy about that: had a good foodie time on Friday and getting straight back on plan the next day has paid off. I would like to lose a lb this coming week though so need to keep up the planning, meal prep and not going out to eat.
Glad you feel my photos are an inspiration fitorbust: one of the biggest 'secrets' is I think just keeping at it. You will fall off the wagon occasionally and have gains: just keep posting here to be remotivated and the weight will come off. You know how quickly time goes - a lb a week means 2 stone in 6 months and 4 in a year. I know we all want to lose it next month, but this year has gone very quickly and my head is full of 'this time last year I weighed x and was longing for this time this year to be where I am now'. Belonging to this forum is the biggest factor in losing and keeping it off for me, so as ever, my grateful thanks to you all:T :T

haha BB. Its funny what perceptions people have based on purple text isnt it!! When i say motherly you have the kind of face that a little child would run to if they grazed their knee :p

Ive taken some before shots. I might take one fully clothed cos i thought i would try on my collection of bikinis and tankinis to fully see my weight loss if it ever happens, but when that day finally comes that i can show my befores and afters, i know i'll be too chicken to post them! Although by the time i get to it everyone here will be gone!!

I went on the scales today. 1lb GAIN dunno where thats come from cos apart from a chinese on saturday ive done really well! Been walking more than ever, going around london, around silverstone, walking home from work, walking around work, doing my stepper and dancing. Im gutted!

Look out for me on TV tonight. Im going to watch a twenty20 match, Kent V Sussex. Think its on sky1. I'll try and get on tv, perhaps i should take a sign saying Hi lose weight 21 people!! hehe.

oh Love the photo KPC, Very robin. One of my favourite films actually.

    Morning everyone

I know lots of people weigh today so I will start by saying congrats to all the losers/STSers! :D And to everyone whose result isn't what they wanted, forget about it and move on - it was SO last week ;)

Hiya Peke thanks for the gym lowdown! I think it was me that said 5k in 40 mins was a good walk/run pace. I did just under 35 mins yesterday and that's on my third session (outdoors, not treadmill). I'm aiming firstly to run the whole way and then try to get it under 30 mins. By my calculations you'd need about a 4.5 miles an hour pace to do 5k in 40 mins? Maths not my strong point :p I'll have to give it a go on a treadmill myself I think.

I love the cross trainer, such a great workout. If I could only keep one piece of fitness equipment, it would probably be this one. Well done on the 40 mins! Good few calories burned there!

Of course packing counts as activity Grannynise! Anything where you're moving counts! Even tapping your foot to music would burn a teensy bit more than keeping still! I hope the conference goes well.

Beanie, I can only nod my head and agree with you that maintaining is difficult! My strategy is to try to learn how to deal with the gains as quickly and efficiently as possible - because I know there will be frequent gains.

Have a great weekend away KPC and congratulations on the loss! Apart from the weight loss, does calorie/fat counting have any other ticks in boxes for you? It seems SW is still the one that suits you better in most areas? Great action pic btw - and we can all see you don't have much to lose anyway :D

Good to hear you're more or less mended now Lemon Drop. I'm not sure what to recommend activity wise as I don't know how sciatica affects you and there are probably quite a lot of no-nos? I used to be a bad hayfever sufferer too, but this is my 11th year 100% completely hayfever free. It is a shame nothing has worked for you :( When you say you have tried everything on the market does that include alternative therapies too? Great loss this week btw!

Procrastinator, is there anything we can do to help? Don't like to think of anyone struggling and getting disheartened, especially so early on. Please keep posting. I seem to remember you were 'going it alone' (could be wrong?) - do you have anyone you can call upon for some expert advice? (Other than us :p)
