Well I have done it - got weighed in this morning, lost another 2 1/2 pounds which makes my total weight loss so far 101 pounds!!!!!

I am so happy that I am not even going to think about the fact that I still have almost another 200 to lose!!:o ( I will think about it tomorrow though)!

In order to celebrate with you wonderful people on here I am going to come out of my shell and post my before and now pictures - please bear in mind that I still have a lot to lose so I don't look like a page 3 girl yet:o ! I have never put a picture on a forum before either so it might not even work - but here goes!
The first picture was about 3 1/2 years ago - I was at my heaviest then and even had trouble walking across a large room. I sat almost all day long  - it seems like a nightmare now. The next one is how I look now, I will update these again after my next 100 pounds!!

Sorry about the quality of the first one but I used to hide when I saw a camera so there are not many pictures of me about!

    Love to all

  • Hi
I'm feeling much calmer now. Just got in from work after collecting DS. Am on my second bowl of stew - hm with carrots, onion, celery, red lentil and cannilini beans and tins of tomatoes. Surely the beans provide protein? I shouldn't be eating this now as I have to leave in an hour for my yoga class but I couldn't ignore the concern in the replies I got to my earlier post. Normally I eat after class. Forgot to take the apple to work but did add celery. Have had two big handfuls of brazil nuts. I eat these every day. Whilst waiting for son I succumed to a bag of walkers ready salted.
I shall have a look at some of the links when I get back from class.
    Have a good eve everyone.

Same to Suggs, efreize and starlight, just looked at the pics from page 1 link and you all look great - just the motivation that I need.

Procrastinator - please, please get your calories up hon! What you have written for today's menu could be as low as 500 calories, this is not enough for a day. If you're exercising on this too, then your body is almost certainly storing everything it can get as fat and this is why you are gaining.

I have been exactly where you are - the harder it was for the weight to come off, the more I reduced calories and increased exercise and in the end it had the opposite effect. It was then that I started learning about calories and getting the right balance and things started moving again. I've run into the same thing again recently (though not as extreme as last time), and I'm just trying to sort the balance out again. It CAN be done, you really do not need to starve yourself.

Please at least add some wholegrain - a couple of slices of wholemeal bread, some ryvitas with spread, or something like that to today's menu to get you up towards 1,000ish, and preferably another snack of about 200 cals as well. On a typical 'minimum' day I eat one full meal (usually lunch, which must include protein), cereal with semi skimmed milk & a yoghurt drink, and 2 slices of toast. Sometimes I can have a snack too depending on what the meal was :p That is still very low but remember I have low body weight and correspondingly low BMR - someone with higher BMR would be able to eat more and still lose the same amount as me.

Jump on the scales as much as you like but remember it's only the 'official' weigh in that counts! Mine goes up, quite dramatically, for seemingly no reason too sometimes - I think the exercise affects this in a big way, and I think Suggs would agree there. I know I'm still getting to grips with that.

I'm going to post this straight away as it's lunchtime :) and I'll come back in a bit to catch up with everything else.[/quote]

    Hi Missy
Don't worry about me. Monday is always a light day because of my yoga class. I eat more that this on a normal day. Yesterday I had mandarins, yoghurt and honey for B.fast. Pitta bread with salad and goats cheese for lunch and the bean stew for dinner. Also had fruit. Saturdays dinner was lasagne with veg and roast potatoes. I do eat well normally.
    Thanks for your concern.

Marion - thank you so much for posting your pictures - the difference is stunning: as every one says, you look so much younger and the 2nd really shows off the beautiful warmth of your face. I feel quite choked that you have done this, knowing how shy you have felt. You are a star.:T :T :T . Congratulations on joining the 100lbs club too:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Will say goodnight to you all, got a big day tomorrow.
My disabled son (7) had a big op on both legs 6 weeks ago to lengthen all the tendons in his legs as he has never been able to walk, he's been in plaster casts since then and tomorrow we are off up to London to have the casts removed and see if the consultant thinks it's been successful.
If it has worked he should have a lot more flexibility and with that comes the hope that, with lots of physio, he may be able to walk at some point in the next few years, probably not unaided, but just to be able to stand on his own (without having to be strapped into a standing frame) would be so amazing for him, because all he's ever wanted to do is be able to play with his twin sister and this really is the one and only chance he has to do that, it's all a long way off but definately something to work towards, so wish us luck.
I think it may be a long day, please forgive me if I resort to Mcd's or Burger King xx
