    Morning girls and guys!

Lemon Drop well done on losing all of the gain. How long did it take you? Didn't seem like long! :D You can't change your username unless you start over again, but I don't see any reason why it should be a problem if you wanted to do that :)

Petrichor you mean to say you lost your original 50lbs+ without a single gain along the way?! That is amazing. I had 2 gains in 38 weeks while I was originally losing. One was a multi-week gain on holiday and the other was 'unexplained' :p. I thought I'd done well till I read yours! :D I do have a different outlook to gains while maintaining though, I think it's normal and healthy and nothing to be shy or embarrassed about. So anyway... let us know how the tennis draw goes!

Well done Jay on your loss! Good luck for next week, hope you get the steady losses that you're after!

Erlqueen have a great time in Germany (I'm sure I've already said that but never mind :p) 750m swim - that's nothing to me - only 30 lengths. I did 100 lengths a few weeks ago (2500m) and I comfortably do 60-70 on a normal session :). The swim and bike will be the least of my worries in this little triathlon challenge, it's doing the 5km run on the end of it that I think will be hard! I've mapped out exactly 20km to cycle today, and I am hoping to put the 3 things together the week after next.

I'll try running round the block when I get back from my bike ride, and see how my legs feel :rotfl:

    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning All

Seems yet again I miss lots of interesting and not so interesting posts. Trust we are all doing well.

I got to the gym last night and did a measured 3.1mile on the treamill (as close to 5km as I can do it) anyways I did it in 26min45sec. I did take a minutes break, not walk, but paused. as I was tiring, but thats the time. I had cycled 5.4miles before the treadmill and then after catching my breath did another 10mins on the treadmill. So burnt 1090cals in total. Current plan is to try going outside on Sunday for a run. Missy and Efrieze how do you cope with the looks and stares? I have btw managed a slloowww 800m swim 18months ago when I was recovering from the knee op!

MOT whereabouts in Egypt are you heading? Jay it wasnt me either was it?

    My numbers for this week.

Weight is UP 0.4lb not unexpected I was caught out yesterday with sandwiches at a meeting, although I had brought a pre madeup salad and then two trays of sandwiches etc plonked in front of me, it was a few minutes before I made my excuses and got the salad from the car.

    Other numbers
Body Fat DOWN from 25.3% to 23.6% :)
Muscle Mass UP from 70.99% to 72.57% :)
    BMI 31.9% Total Weight Lost 43.7% :)

  • guys i need help.

i think im starting to fail.

i was at a conference yesterday and ate everything in site, but still managed to have a healthy dinner and do my weights.

but the thought of going on the exercise bike tonight when i get in is about as welcome and dog turd on my shoes!

i have loved doing it, noticed differences, im no longer snoring in my sleep (i have sleep apnia too) and im only 25, but the thought of doing boke 3 nights a week and weights 2 nights a week for the rest of my life seems very very very very very scary and i just want to jack it all in!

    is this uncommon?

how the hell do i keep on going?

obviously the time im putting in takes away from things at night times, so we are not eating out as much or going to the cinema etc, and its kinda worrying.

am i alone in feeling like this?

Came back to catch up the rest of the posts, refreshed the page I was on and thought 'how odd. There are no other posts' before realising that there was another page started :rotfl:

Not got to the post yet from Lemon Drop but I've gathered the gist of it. I love your name, sweet yet crunchy :D , shame you want to change it but if you're truely unhappy with it then you may as well do it now before your post counts goes too high.

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling and I'm not the best person to give advise to anyone (if I try to run 50 mtrs I need to take a stop for oxygen and a smoke  ) but maybe you can just cut it down to 2 bikes and 1 weights which will free up some time for you to do other things.

There are no right and wrong ways of doing exercise - you just need to be as active as you wish to be. Just bear in mind the good it's doing you and if you find that you're slipping back too much make a concious effort to up it again for a few weeks.

This is a lifetime change but if you make yourself do something you simply do not enjoy then you'll end up not doing anything which defeats the object completely.

Maybe also try some other activities, swimming? Treadmills? See if that helps allieviate the boredom

Just a thought Kenny - you don't HAVE to exercise... not yet anyway. Maybe when you get to the weight you desire then you could tone up... it might even seem less daunting then too. Also, it sounds like a lot - a couple of good sessions of exercise a week is enough isn't it?
  • thanks guys

i know your saying a couple of good session.

Monday - Bike - 30 mins (am now on level 3 intensity)
Tuesday - Weights - probably about 20 mins, doing 3 sets of reps (various exercises)
    Wednesday - Bike - 30 mins
    Thursday - Weights
    Friday - Bike - 30 mins

    Saturday/Sunday off.

ive noticed huge changes in my legs, and small changes everywhere else, i want to do this i do, but it takes up so my time that im afraid other things in life will suffer.

and i know 30 mins may not seem like a lot, but i dont get home until 6pm, then by the time i do warmup and bike its like near 7, then im getting a shower and dinner, takes me to half 7 or 8 and i cant be bothered doing anything else.

my other half is being very understanding (and if you check my other threads youll see the relationship diffulties ive had)

i honestly dont know if im just doing my old self and looking for excuses or i really am fed up already (its only been just over a month)

i also try to go a walk up the high street every lunchtime (apart from today i had to go get petrol and the queue is a nightmare at finishing time)

i just hate these skinny people that can eat all day long and look fantastic and dont give a sh*t and then there are others like us who have to work their buts off to get a balance.

and its those same skinny sods that get everything they want in life,

sorry ranting, just so frustrated today!

There are opposing views on the thread... there's the Suggs, missy, efrieze camp who love the exercise and can't get enough, and then there's the likes of me who pretty much hates it. To be honest, I can't see the point in doing it if it becomes a chore - you might as well be at work!

Exercise in itself doesn't do a great deal to help weight loss AFAIK. It tones the body so that your weight loss looks better on you. There was the bit posted the other day (I forget who, sorry) about a pound gain in weight being the equivalent of 3500 calories, or 35 kitkats. The truth is the same the other way in that you need to burn off 3500 EXTRA calories to lose that pound of weight. To me that's too much hard work unless it's something I'd enjoy doing anyway. For most people just day-to-day living is enough to burn off your recommended calorie intake and more.... after all, as long as you're not sitting still you are, in effect, exercising all day.

I'd hate to see you give up because you thought it was too hard - especially when it really doesn't need to be that hard in the first place. If you try to squeeze into a regime that doesn't work for you, a regime that you don't like, then the likelihood is that you'll give up and go back to square one and even worse. On the other hand, if you make your weight loss programme fit around ths things you like doing then you are likely to succeed as you are losing weight while being a happy bunny.

Don't diss the skinnies though, it ain't their fault and they are probably walking around with more serious things to worry about. They may even be Wolves fans.
