There are people who treat books as 'clutter' and boast about getting rid of them
It would be my dream to have a library. We have bookshelves in the lounge, dining room and hallway. The only books I get rid of are ones I have picked up at the dump or charity shop if they are not in particularly good condition - although I am trying to collect all the Penguin Classics and have bought a lot from the charity shop. The bookshelves are all full, but for my birthday I got - three books :rotfl:. We have well over a thousand already :eek:0 -
Down to 4 baskets of laundry in the kitchen.. though I know I could fill another 4 if I went collecting laundry upstairs!
DD2 has new shoes and trainers.. a full size bigger than the ones she has been wearing! .. bad mummy!!! lol
DS2 cannot have any shoes or any trainers because nowhere has any that will fit him!! He has to have a specific type and I can't get any so I have a trip to Brantano's to look forward to tomorrow to see if I can get him some in there.. and if not I'll be ordering online..
QUESTION...
Are Hush Puppies similarly sized to Clarks shoes??.. for children.. I know startrite are a bit different but if I order online I need to know which size to get really..
The !!!!!! ebay buyer has left the predicted negative because I haven't given her a refund.. mainly because I haven't got the item back yet.. why are they so thick?? Nasty piece of work that one!!
Off to fiddle with my laundry and see is Dr Who is online to watch yet..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
:hello: Evening everyone.
Well that was quite a nice overtime shift and its a change working with different clients. Its been hot here and we have been sitting out in the garden.
chas97michelle I have read the Martina Cole books and she is one of my favourite authors. There is another author who writes like her but for the life of me I cant remember her name. I would be lost without my books I just love reading. I always wanted to be a librarian so I could read all the new books.

Pigpen - what site do you use to watch programmes online??
Haven't been here the last part of the week, but have managed to do the very essential things. I still see plenty that hasn't been done, but that's the way it goes!
Have work today, buying cheap pizza for dinner tonight, so just shower and washing to get sorted before I go.
Stayed up a bit late after watching Ireland vs All Blacks last night - heads just a wee bit heavy today :rolleyes:If there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
Pigpen I find they are a little more generous than Clark's, my son has the same size HPs as he had measured for in Clarks but finds them more comfortable. His new ones have insoles to make them smaller - bit strange but works, hoping he'll get more wear from them but of course he's great at wearing shoes out. I think you can only get the kids sizes in store now (Barratts or Brantano's here I think) unless you can get new/unused ones on ebay or somewhere in the right size (doesn't happen often but I have managed to get Clarks, Startrite and HPs all new unused before on there)
Hmmm, not done much off my list. DP has decided he doesn't want a dinner tomorrow as it is too hot, so that throws a complete spanner in my plans, no idea what to do now, he's a right pain in the ****. Actually I might do one anyway, I fancy one, let him choose to have something else if he likes, just use the other meat I have instead of the big beef joint. One day I might be more organised...........

boddy and cha97 michelle, my mum is mad about Martina Cole and buys each book as soon as they come out! Is it Mandasue Heller you are thinking about who writes like her? Although I haven't read Martina Cole I have read Mandasue Heller and she is fab - don't have nearly as much time to read as I would like now! Having to sell a lot of my books to make space and because we need the money  :mad:Make £5 a day challenge - April

Yet another traumatic day! GF was able to stay over last night so she could spend the day with DS. At 9.15 this morning, the house phone rang but it was a text message, no name, just some letters and numbers.
Off we went to the hairdresser, breakfast at the gym, town and back home. GF then had a call from her mother asking if she'd seen her friend A, which she hadn't.
At that moment, A's dad arrived to see if she was here. (She was one of the teens who was here last night) It turns out that when he got up this morning, she had left the house, leaving him a note that she was going to Bristol (where her Mum lives). She'd not arrived at Mum's and was not answering calls.
He left and it was a little while later that I remembered the phone call. It was from her number and she had text a Postcode??? DS and GF then said that she had told them she was going out at about 6 this morning and they'd assumed she was going to her Mum's but that they had recently found out her BF is the 28yr old DJ that works in her Mum's pub!!! I got straight on phone to her Dad and a short time later, we were at the police station and he's reported her missing (she's 15). She has finally, about 9.30, answered a call from DS's GF and said she's fine, but wouldn't say where she was and hung up. (GF has let A's dad know & we assume he'll have told the police) We're just hoping and praying that she shows some sense and turns up safe tomorrow. Needless to say DS and GF are as worried as her parents and step-parents!
It's helped the flying though (can't sit still when I'm worried):

Pink - what a worrying situation! I'm assuming you've given the post code to the Police. At least with post codes, you can narrow the location down to quite a small number of houses. And what's a 28 yo DJ doing with a teenager? And if her mobile is on but is not actually being answered, it's location can be tracked too.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I hope all is resolved as quickly and as 'satisfactorily' (that's the only word I can think of at the moment - it's not the right one, but it's close enough) as possible.
Big, big hugs to you all..I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Oh Pink it's just one thing after another isn't it. Teenagers eh! I must admit at 15 I was dating much older men inc some in their 20s, it didn't seem weird to me then in the slightest. I do hope she's found safe and well soon, when will people learn to talk to each other? I thnk that's what a lot of runaways comes down to, people don't know how to talk to each other, or accept each other has different values, beliefs or opinions.
Well I'm watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition - with tears in my eyes - it's the camp one, oh I've watched it a few times and I still go to pieces. Waiting for pain relief to kick in so I can get some sleep, well hopefully it'll help my temperature at the mo too. I'm just hoping it naffs off before next weekend as me and DP don't get along well when we're ill, praying the boys don't get it either as that wouldn't be fun.
Hmm, I've left the washing out, I've got my nightshirt on and one of the flats behind is having a party I think, I think I will risk leaving it there until tomorrow. One day I might be more organised...........
