Evening all
I've been chasing my tail all day, that is what happens when you spend an hour chewing the fat at the school gate rather than starting your day! Not been up there all week with working so was catching up a bit. Visited Sis which was nice and coffee with ex PTA was also lovely - we have all said we need to do it more often.
Flying, only dalies done and like Mudbath I just can't be doing with it today.
I'll revisit my list tomorrow and see what I can get done.
Thrushes have survived another day (I insited the cats stayed in for 10 hours by locking their cat flap - they soon got the message and slept all day).
DS1's sunburn is still sore but not as red as yesterday - he daren't fuss as he knows he'll get short shrift.
Holly hope your little one gets off lightly with the pox
Nicki have a fab weekend
Soappie you brought back so many memories of nights in pub gardens for me. I don't find sitting in my garden relaxing - I always feel I should be doing something. I'm more a morning person than twilight but if we get some sunny evenings then I think I'll entice OH out there for a drink. I agree with having a time for ourselves on the list, I am dreadful for this and am hardly ever not doing something, I admire people who can just sit.
Justamum it is lovely you family are trying so hard to make your day special
AnW'sMum I spotted a big clump of buttercups in my sisters borders today, usually my gardening head would pull them out but they looked so happy and bright and made me think of you my love. It is overcast here but I hope you get a clear sky.
Right OH is out so a quick tidy in the kitchen, washing on and then to delete some old docs/mails. PC was playing up earlier so did the virus checker and yet again the boys had picked up 2 virus's from games - they are banned yet again. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Pigpen, I agree with you about the getting old bit -
I am truly getting old. The joints creak in the morning etc. etc. But, I - and am I allowed to do this? Will I be kicked off the board for saying this? - ~gulp~ I'll be brave ~gulp~......
I disagree with you about not putting the gloaming sitting on the list.
If we were all wonderful, perfect, excellent, A+, top dollar flyladies, we would, yes, have our houses so spickety span and everything so wonderfully under control we'd only need to flick a duster and voila - sorted! But I know I'm not like that. I know I have my hotspots, dirty spots, unmentionable spots, the 'oh my god if the police knocked on the door right now they'd have to arrest me before I let them in THERE' spots.
Disagree all you like.. maybe it is something you should use as your ' half hour just for you' time which was on todays list...
I am off out to get ratted wiff my fwend.. when she turns up.. characteristically LATE as always lol.. I do love her but her time keeping leaves a LOT to be desired.
weekend list will be up in about 2 minutes!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
mudbath - I haven't had a chance to get onto the pc since you posted. I have read all the Erica James, favourite is probably Precious Time. I also like Maeve Binchy and Joanna Trollope, and have recently got hooked on a totally different type of book when a friend gave me a Kathy Reichs. I'm off to get the one that Taurus mentioned tomorrow - if the Oxfam bookshop don't have it, then I've just remembered that I have a booktoken I haven't spent yet.
The allotment is nearly there - I just wish it hadn't rained all of the halfterm, which is when I had planned to get it all straight. I have a full plot, and it's divided into 14 beds. One flowers, three fruit, one runner bean and strawberry, and the rest are vegetable. I do crop rotation, but a variation, based on when crops are in the ground - two beds of each - 1)early crops followed by winter crops, 2) main summer, 3) potatoes, 4) last year's winter crops followed by late summer crops (eg tomatoes, sweetcorn, squash). The missing bed is the one where I dug out the raspberry canes, and that is having cut flowers for a while until I get rid of the bindweed! Right this minute, I haven't cleared the left over remains of the winter crops so that I can plant out the late summer, and the plants are beginning to get rather large!
DD and DS1 are both out with friends at assorted pubs, so either OH or I will be doing a late night taxi run... I must go put the duvet cover on my bed in a minute - I've been doing a bit of catching up, and practically managed all the main flying list over this week, so won't have to do much this weekend. I fancy doing some baking if the weather isn't good enough for gardening! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
AnWsMum - don't have anything yellow i could wear today but i have had a yellow duster in my pocket all day and have been thinking of you. Lots of love to you from us here. xxx:A :A :A
Thanks to you all for the lovely messages of support. And yes I too wish their bits and bobs would shrivel up and drop off! lol.:D
I've been in touch today with my SSAFA social worker for my disability. She is livid! And just waiting to find out if DH's advising officer thinks a letter from her and the doctor would help. Have worked it out - since we got married 7 years ago, DH has had to have time off because of my disability ... ONCE!!!:p I think I'm doing pretty good there!:D Considering my best friend (also disabled in a similar way to me) has had over 4 months in hospital over the last 2 years, and her hubby hasn't had a problem getting time off work!
We did have a bit of good news yesterday but like the old saying goes, we won't be counting any chickens just yet! Felt a bit better today, although still worried about what will happen, but definitely in fighting mood! Although if I have to watch Alvin or Mickey Mouse one more time I think I will scream:rotfl: .
Again, thank you all, it really has cheered us both up all your lovely messages. Lots of love to you all xxx:beer:LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Serena - I love hearing about other people's allotments. We've got the battle of the bindweed too! We have a second allotment that we're keeping strimmed rather than dug over and that's our fruit allotment. It only has a couple of trees, two red currents, one black current, three raspberries and three gooseberries at the moment. We'll sort that out once the main allotment is sorted. There's a huge piece of land behind the allotment shop that connects our allotments and we've been told we can use that too. We've kept it strimmed and have put the pumpkins on there and they're doing really well. Tonight we put some more boards up along one of the beds and hopefully this weekend we'll empty the greenhouse and plant the remaining plants out. We've left some things a bit late to put out this year as we've been building the beds. It's great fun. I'll give Kathy Reich a google.
I'm going to do a splutter rather than fly tomorrow. I've a couple of clients and i'll do a S/S around the house after them.
Have a great weekend xx0 -
Thanks Pink - I think Pigpen should put one on the list every day next week to liven things up a bit - I love the ATM one and seriously am going to do this when one of my kids is with me.
I have been on a deleting spree ? when I delete mails/docs I then empty the deleted bin is there an equivalent for when I delete favourites?
Still mails to do but I have done well on the favourites and docs. I really need to try to keep revisiting this task once a week. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Do you have a 'library' or book room? I confess that I've always wanted a book lined room all to myself. We just have bookshelves on almost every wall, including a ceiling high set on the upstairs landing
My idea of heaven. I realised one day that every time I 'fancied' a room in a magazine it had bookshelves:o
There are people who treat books as 'clutter' and boast about getting rid of them0
